Is such a thing as too much internal volume?
Looking at two options here to shoot a 17WSM through.
#1 is a .22 can that is stout enough for 17WSM pressure
#2 is a 5.56 can, that has more volume and could be used on both a 17 and 5.56
The primary thing on rimfire cans is serviceability because .22 is so dirty, but being that 17WSM is FMJ and also hotter, its not nearly as dirty.
But if the 5.56 can is serviceable anyways, is there a reason not to buy the 5.56 can over a .rimfire can?
I'm kinda thinking of doing a Form 1 can to use on a 17WSM Pdog gun, so it wouldnt get tons of use every year in that scenario...but I also dont want to ruin the sound suppression by having too much volume if that's even possible?
