I have had a good number of nice vehicles over the years, but there are three that I wish I still had. When I was about to graduate from college in 1969 I purchased a brand new Camero SS, then a couple of years later children came into the picture and we needed a bigger car. Then later I had a VW Camper van (or whatever they called them). We loved it, but I jumped at a trade with a friend for a 72 Opel GT. Great car, but a couple of years later I traded it for a Fiat 850 Sport Coupe. Worst vehicle I ever had. I am not allowed to say the word "Fiat" in front of my bride.......
Same here. I had a 1981 Fiat X1/9.

Wifey drove it and had the gear shift remove itself from the car while on a two lane bridge. No, not th shift knob the whole shifter stick.
Man was she ever torqued! She was headed to the shop to get it safety inspected.

We bought it from a dealer who had already passed it as safe. We found another garage who flunked it badly with both rear struts, all four tires, windshield wipersand about four other things were bad or needed replaced. We contacted the state highway patrol and I was visited by the captain of the division. He looked at the dealer's inspection and the garage's and said, "Im going to get your car fixed for you." He did.

When it ran, it was a go kart with a V8! This damn piece of European engineering was painted the correct color, LEMON YELLOW. I had it about 9 months and drove it about 3 months. Traded it in on an 89 Ford pickup. I hope that Fiat met the crusher.

I regret selling my 1967 Mercury Cougar XR7. It was the 2nd car I ever owned. It sat in a field in Estes Park, CO for years and years. Towed it home, was taught how to weld when we replaced the floor pan. Basic tune up and a fresh battery and we had that thing running. Man I miss that car. The other was my 1949 5 window Chevy pickup, but I'd take the Cougar over that one if given a choice.

I understand. Engine replaced in mine twice, in less than a year, and that was with Very normal driving...

Lol...... You mean you sell the ones you quit driving?

I musta missed the memmo to get rid of the old ones.

I just park them off to the side and kinda lose track of them.

Occasionally might sell a part or two, or scavenge something.

A little change in subject. How about vehicles one regrets purchasing?

I had two I regretted purchasing. The first was a 1973 Ford Capri. Purchased brand new when I was 17. It was pretty. Red with a black vinyl top......but a true piece of crap. It would eat up points and plug wires and many other issues. I'm sure at that age I drove it pretty hard. Traded it in on a 1975 Ford 1/2 ton pickup. It too was a piece of crap. Needed a total valve job with a little over 30,000 miles. In the 1970's American car manufactures were making a bunch of crap vehicles and even through the 80's.

I swore I would never purchase another new vehicle and stayed true to that for next 20 plus years.

Anybody else have vehicle regrets?
Lol since you hijacked my thread I'll play. In May of 2003 I bought a 86 Toyota supra non-turbo 5 speed. Car was a huge POS somebody didn't take very good care of. I bought it from a car dealer on 11th street in tulsa. BIG mistake. I sank a lot of money into that car and sold it for $3,000. A previous owner tack welded the crank pulley to the crankshaft! So, basically had to rebuild the motor, the tires were dry rotted and old, I put nice new falken Z rated tires on it. It had a lot of issues, but it was fast. I wanted a supra so bad after seeing the first fast and furious movie. That was as close as I will ever get. Mine looked exactly like this one, but mine has Nissan 300ZX wheels. the interior and exterior was just as nice, but mechanically it was a turd. It would cruise at 85 in 5th gear and got 27 mpg. 3.0 inline six 7M-GE. Daddy of the 2JZ. I wanted to put an HKS exhaust and intake on it but never did, had JDM Razo pedals and shift knob on it. A lot of $6 an hour KFC money was sank into it.

My 67 Cougar with the 390 CU engine met it's end when when someone turned left just in front of me on Lewis Ave. in Tulsa.
But the car I regret selling was a 1989 Pontiac Grand Am with a 5 speed manual and the 2.3L Quad 4 engine. Fun to drive and 33 mpg on the highway. I should have put a lot more miles on it, but I needed a truck.

A Chickasaw friend of mine told me that his elders never sold or got rid of a vehicle because they considered them to be 'family'. Good or bad, they would never part with anyone from their family.

My biggest regret purchase was the 2001 Cadillac STS. Biggest POS I have ever owned. The worst part was I got rid of a 2000 loaded Honda Accord EX which was in perfect condition and never gave me a problem.
After that I ended up with a Ford Five Hundred AWD it was a FANTASTIC vehicle. Wold go anywhere and other than an engine mount, gave me 180,000 carefree miles. Got rid of it when I got the hankering for a Lexus LS. Still to this day, if I could find a good condition Ford Five Hundred Limited AWD, I would snatch it up in a heartbeat.
