I keep seeing folks claim that the FDA approved the usage of AO in Vietnam and elsewhere in SE Asia therefore we shouldn't trust the FDA approval of the current Covid vaccines. The USDA in was established in 1862 and the FDA in it's current capacity in 1906. The EPA wasn't created until 1970 so they weren't involved in AO approval whatsoever. I can find nothing that states that the FDA tested 2,4-D and 2,4,5-T on test animals or humans prior to it's usage or actually any FDA involvement. I don't think the FDA has ever or will ever test herbicides on humans lol. Anyone have any other info or links on FDA involvement with AO? Thanks.

I'll bet all the FDA naysayers, or at least a majority of them, have relied upon some sort of FDA approved medicine, or vaccine, in their lives at some point, if not currently. Seems their conviction wanes from time to time.

FIFRA was enacted in 1947 (the internet tells me). It is administered by EPA.

EPA began in 1970....hmmm....."In 1970, with the formation of EPA, responsibility for administering FIFRA transferred from USDA to EPA."
Initially FIFRA administration was focused on agriculture but as research indicated harm being done to the general environment, the need was seen for a broader application....That's my limited understanding

The good news is the FDA approval means someone is now has some version of liability in the event of severe side effects until now its been an experimental drug more or less.
