my kids, or kids of people in my demographic, would not. it's just that simple. the america i grew up in is dead; there is no way to raise children in a "better" world or give them a better life than i had. and the aspect of bearing children to be raised knowingly *worse off* than you were isn't appealing.
You don't have children so they can go live in peace and plenty. You make children out of spite, to carry on the long war against your people.

Hungary is also an authoritarian mess where democracy has died. That’s is a big con in my opinion. But some here would consider that a good thing as democracy is a liberal idea, authoritarianism is a very conservative one.
Democracy is the worst possible way to make decisions and we've known that for some time. I'll willingly elaborate further but not in this thread.

I find it ironic that Western men over the years have softened in regard to their women, from keeping them subservient, to the point of not only letting them vote, but being more than equal to them. Now, we see many women in Europe who are openly welcoming in Muslim men who are bent on taking them right back to where they were before Western men gave them all of the rights they have - and worse. Maybe we should learn from the Muslim invaders as to what women really want?
Angela Merkel is a prime example.

just to clear, in the world wide scheme of things, rep vs dem in the USA is identifying as a liberal conservative, liberal moderate or a liberal liberal. Unless you are anti democracy, etc.there are those with authoritarian leanings.
Seriously? You must be thinking of the Hungary under communism?

Hungary is a country in Central Europe located in the Carpathian Basin. With a population of about 10 million people, Hungary is classified as a medium-sized member state of the European Union. Hungary transitioned from communism to democracy and then to capitalism as a result of economic stagnation, political tension, and changing relations within the Warsaw Pact countries. It emerged as an independent country after World War I. The politics of the country take place under a parliamentary representative democratic republic. Hungary has 18 counties, 23 urban counties, and one capital city.

Politics Of Hungary

Hungary is an independent and a constitutional state and has been a parliamentary republic since 1989. Hungarian politics take place under a parliamentary representative democratic republic. The political system in the country operates under a framework reformed in 2012. The Constitution of Hungary is the Fundamental Law of Hungary. The constitution guarantees human dignity, separation of power, the structure of the state, and highlights the rule of law. Hungary has been a multi-party state since the fall of communism. The country has held seven parliamentary elections since the first multi-party elections in 1990. The constitution of Hungary recognizes three levels of government; the executive, legislature, and judiciary. All the three branches work independently without the influence of the other. The president of Hungary is the head of state while the prime minister is the head of government.

Executive Branch Of The Government Of Hungary

The executive branch comprises of the president, prime minister, and cabinet ministers. The executive powers are exercised by the government of Hungary. The executive branch is the principle organ of public administration. The president (who plays largely a ceremonial role) is elected by the parliament for a five-year term. He is the supreme authority of the Hungarian armed forces. The president also nominates the prime minister who must be approved by the Members of Parliament. Traditionally, the prime minister has been the leader of the largest party in parliament. The premier appoints cabinet ministers who must first appear before a consultative open hearing by a committee of parliament and voted by the parliament before they can be formally appointed by the president. He holds the exclusive right to dismiss any cabinet minister while the cabinet itself account to the Parliament.

Legislative Branch Of The Government Of Hungary

The legislative branch comprises of both the parliament and the government. The National Assembly of Hungary comprises of 199 members elected to a four-year term. The parliament is the highest organ of state authority responsible for initiating laws and approving legislations sponsored by the prime minister. The parliament elects the president and approves the nomination of the prime minister. The National Assembly also approves the cabinet ministers before they are formally appointed by the president. The cabinet is also responsible to the National Assembly.

Judicial Branch Of The Government Of Hungary

The judicial system of Hungary is divided between courts with civil and administrative courts. The civil courts consist of local courts, regional courts, and Supreme Court. The police and border guards are responsible for enforcing the law. the Supreme Court, Attorney General, and the Chief Prosecutor are completely independent of the executive. The Ombudsman office exists to protect the people on the non-judicial matters.

It doesn’t appear very authoritative to me?
It appears to be a country very much in charge of itself with a direction it wants to follow.
What am I missing?
I will admit Gun laws in Hungary are restricting with owners required to belong to a club and concealed weapons very hard to get a permit for, like most of the rest of the world.
The crime rate is very low though compared to the US, so self protection not as important?

If you mean 2 wolves and a sheep voting on what's for dinner then yes...the founders saw this and that is why we are a Republic...certain protections for the minority group on an issue to prevent what they called "the tyranny of the majority". But it isn't working so well with jab mandates and corporate fascism and one political party using the other side's tax money to buy people's vote as well as importing new voters.

Where are our leaders, judges, etc??? No other country in the world does this. Americans will suffer financially and even through crime and disease for this. Please, someone step up and save us. Imagine 20yrs ago or even 10 the protests and such that would going on. What does it tell you about this fragmented nation that people are scared to even oppose this outrage?

This isn't the regime's fault anymore than it is the fault of a rabid pitbull that bites. They are just doing what they do...but the guy that says he's your friend and lets the dog into your yard is the real issue...elected Republicans WANT this to happen...that is the only other conclusion I can come to.

Anyone else have any analysis?
Republicans want this to happen? You must be jesting. This whole shite storm is due to these moronic Democrat frauds in office.

I mean republican leaders not voters. If the leaders were united and did not want this to happen, they could create a real shite storm over it on a daily basis. They don't...actions speak louder than words....the republican gov of texas could stop this tomorrow if he wanted to. Your leaders have failed you...I know, hard to take, I don't like it either. Our governor is busy trying to take in refugees to further the shift to purple in Oklahoma..the writing is on the wall...as a matter of fact, the chair is against the wall LOL.

There’s nothing hard to take. That’s not sincere. You suggest that they act like Democrats and posture like squawking idiots when they don’t have the numbers, majority to do anything? Actions. I care about actions not useless pontificating.

As first for Stitt I have mixed feelings on the refugees. I’d take some that are vetted Through another security clearance. Some but not many. The majority of the people were working for us because we were the largest employer in Afghanistan. Not because they believed in our way of life.

This is going to lead to terrorist sneaking through

The GOP had the Presidency, Senate, and House not but just a few short years ago; what did they do? They sure as hell didn't secure the border, that's for sure. Trump is the only one that acted like he gave a damn about it, and he got accused of every "ism" and "phobia" the statist press, and too many Americans could throw at him. They (Republicans) aren't any more sincere about securing the border than the Democrats are. You are correct: actions speak louder than words. I think the GOP has also shown us just what they're about.

And refugees? How about none. We are full, we have WAY too many illegals from the south here now - enough to change our demographics to the point that the country is no longer the United States of our ancestors. As for the Middle Eastern types, the fact that we have to "fight 'em over there, so we don't have to fight 'em over here", while we let them in in droves is beyond stupid, to the point of criminal. But we'll soon enough have a terrorist attack, and wring our hands and "woe is me", forgetting all about how virtuous we felt when we were letting these 3rd worlders into a country where they don't belong. And the authoritarian government will still be looking for "white supremacists" around every corner, and likely blaming the attacks on "white rage". Make America great again? You'd have to first find a way to make America, "America" again. And that ship has sailed.

After winning 2/3 of parliament in 2010 they enacted a new constitution, stacked courts and most other institutions, election laws, limited the press, and everything else to keep a majority.

You may not understand how it works. Traditionally you need 2/3 to 3/4, one of those fractions in order to get through the Senate and the house before it goes to the presidency. Going nuclear it’s not how things normally work. The Republicans never had a super majority hence they needed Democrats to make things go through. If you don’t have a super majority and just a simple majority you’re still can’t get kaka done.

As for future terrorist attacks I agree it will happen here. More beheadings, more vehicles driving people over, more bombs. Let’s not forget that every year Obama was in office he let over 100,000 of these Mahamazoids in. No idea how many Bush contributed. Regardless of that fact with border patrol not being allowed to do their job we have an open flow coming across the border again.
