I got tired of firearms being pointed at me (often loaded), sweating, and feeling like I had lead poisoning every time I left. I liked it much better when I could go at lunch during the week.
I have never had either of those experiences, probably because I go when there is few customers. I have found that irresponsible folks tend to be just about everywhere these days. Being retired, I can visit during nonbusy times, and if I do happen to drop in when busy, I can just come back another time. Interestingly, I have run into “crowds” more often at Big Boys.

That was the one thing about H&H that I didn’t like, their ventilation. Times I have shot there, didn’t notice it until I got out.

Have not been to Wilshire in a month or so but I found they had better ventilation than H&H.

That last time I was at H&H (several years ago) I had not 1, not 2, but 3 different target lines shot down by the people in the next bay over. All 3 times it was by someone different. After having to setup 3 different times I was done. I politely asked for a refund due to not having been able to fire more than 10 rounds. (Which I was given btw.) And then left.

Looking at all the negligent bullet holes all over that place does make me concerned about the place.

I have not been back to H&H since the time I was there to buy some ammo and a guy on the range had a jam and he starts turning around looking at his gun...meanwhile he is flagging everyone everywhere. In response to this, one of the guys at the ammo counter...outside of the shooting range pulls his gun out and aims it at the guy in the shooting range with the jam and is barking commands at him. Of course being in a separate room and having hearing protection on the guy can't hear...which made the H&H guy just yell louder. After watching this f*ckery take place i decided I was safer elsewhere and have not been back.

Try Big Boys Guns, Ammo & Range on SH152 east of Mustang. Best ventilation I’ve seen.
