I'm 70 years old and anyone can tell that I'm over 21. I find it insulting to be asked for ID and even more insulting to be lied to. I asked why and was told that it was state law, which is not true. I go to WallyWorld or a liquor store to buy my beer because they don't insult me by demanding ID.

Especially with regards to big chain convenience stores, a lot of clerks are required to scan ID to ensure it isn't fake (although its kind of pointless since a lot of fake ones still DO scan). Lots of the chains will send in plants who, upon not getting their ID checked/scanned, get the employee fired. I feel as though most clerks are just scared that someone from corporate's about to tan their hide and not trying to be disrespectful. That being said, I had a clerk give me back my license because he ain't seen an Arkansas one and thought it was fake so I showed him my CCHL.
