I wonder what inputs to our culture have affected this most? I get a kick out of watching old Dick Cavett interviews and other interviews from the 60s-70s. Even the hippies would, for the most part - dress appropriately.
It's this lack of tough immigration policy and loose border management that brought a bunch of FOREIGN low-class cultural negative influences on to American soil. The trashiest of world cultures are from Mother Russia, Africa, Latin America, India, the West Indies, Australia, and the Middle East. America was grandest under the Judeo-Christian traditions and Western culture originating in western Europe and Britain.

Just because you’re a nancy boy who can’t grow facial hair, that’s no reason to be jealous of those of us who can.

And yeah, I’ve changed tires, started fires, and killed animals that needed killing. I had long hair in the Rona Times, but no tattoos or piercings. And I haven’t shaved at all since January 1st. I have quite the epic beard going, and no intention of shaving it again, ever.
The man in your avatar is clean-shaven, well-dressed and well-groomed. This is what men in customer service and in food service should look like. I don't want hairs in my food. I have a deep voice and need no facial hair to prove my maleness.

I have to admit I did have a tat years ago. I had a very small set of lips on my right a$$ cheek with "Kiss It" right above it. I like to say I had it removed but honestly I had no say in the matter. One ticked off German Shepard and a skin graft later and you REALLY have to look for where it was.

Oh as far as the price of shaving cartridges, any of the tried the Bic Hybrid? $6 for the handle and 4 blades. When used up, buy another. They give me a pretty decent shave.

I have sensitive skin and tough facial hairs. A man's double whammy. Every cartridge I've tried, including Persona twin blades, priced less than the Gillette Mach III or Fusion, leaves my face a bloody mess. Double edges butcher my face. An electric is never as close or as refreshing as lather and blades, but I can't stand to pay a king's ransom for shaving equipment each and every month or get out the stinging/burning styptic pencil to recover from all those GOTCHA!s. I have to use a Norelco once or twice daily to actually save me from two GOTCHA!s: one in the wallet and the other on the neck and chin.

In 1981, it was MACHO for a guy to shave!!

I have some of the same problem unless I let my facial hair grow out a bit. I have to use a quad blade and the name brands are just too expensive. The Bic has worked pretty well for me.

I grew a beard 40 years ago because I like beards. My wife of 50 years likes it. I still have it. I keep it short, clean and well trimmed. My Dad got tattooed during WWII. He grew to hate them and wore long sleeved shirts year round. I served a two year hitch in the Marine Corp from 1968 to 1970. Never got a tattoo and still don’t have one. But, I’m not opposed to tattoos. I’m not real keen on the total coverage ones but not repulsed by them. Not a big fan of piercings, etc. I’m and old guy with 50’s and 60’s values regarding hard work, being respectful and treating people the way you would want to be treated. I was also taught not to make snap judgement about people because of their looks, but to give credit to their abilities.

I'm 75, I think? I guess things, and people must change, even if it for the worse? I have seen some drastic changes in everything in all that time. We have more money, leisure time, better cars, medicine, homes, communications, etc. but we have worse, schools, cities, morals, respect for EVERYTHING, other people, our nation, the rule of law, religion, etc! Is that a net gain, I seriously doubt it! I think, and am seldom if evver wrong, we as a people have fallen victim being an affluent society! The curse of being wealthy is, we produce more SOILED BRATS! Even the poorest people in America are producing spoiled brats! The definition of a spoiled brat is someone that, thinks everyone in the world revolves around them, and their wishes! Someone that DEMANDS what they want, and have temper tantrums in the department store ( a public place) to embarrass their parents into giving them their way! Is that not what is happening here? RIOTS, at the drop of a hat, for any excuse, made as public as possable to embarrase the government/society, into giving them their way? I'm glad we are so prosperous, THE HIGHEST STANDARD OF LIVING IN HUMAN HISTORY, but like everything else, it comes with baggage! Many consider my parents generation the GREAT GENERATION! They we subject to some of the greatest challenges, of any generation in history, the great Depression, and WW2! Did being FORCED to deal with all that adversity, force them to become people that were up to any challenge, and make them the GREAT GENERATION? This, and any other, generation of Americans would rise to become a GREAT GENERATION, IF FORCED TO!
Who the devil is WE? I'm pi$$ poor and drive a 1995 econobox car and live in a crappy moldy 50-year-old apartment on the veteran's VA Pension, one form of federal disability. It pays the paltry pittance of $1,160/month and I have no housing voucher to boot. Better medicine? My doctor can't cure my severe arthritis, chronic heart palpitations, asthma, chronic tingling numbness, chronic leg/back/neck pain and chronic fatigue symptoms. VA doctors and Medicaid doctors are about as worthless as tits on a bull. I'm a medical mess. I'm glad I don't smoke, drink or do dope though or verily I say to you, I would be now dead otherwise.
