Along with the lack of respect for anything. The last funeral I attended a young man sitting with the family kept his ballcap on during most of the service. Most people attend services in blue jeans and tee shirts anymore.
Funerals are a waste of time, real estate, energy, environmental soundness, money and human resources. It's designed expressly to make graveyard owners, flower shops, undertakers and coffin builders rich. I gives a damn what happens to my dead body. I would rather spend resources making people living longer, healthier and happier. Cremation makes the most sense.

Hmm, I’ve attended many funerals for people being cremated... Funeral is just the ceremony…

Burying people in a park, with gps marker makes the most sense, or burial at sea. be fertilizer or food, not pollution.

I’m thinking vikingesque type ship, tannerite, firearms, full auto shoot, blow the crap out of me In a ranging inferno on water. Then cookies and milk. That would be fun for all involved.

I've told my brothers already that they can turn me into ammo after I'm gone.

These are not the firearms you're looking for.

I have suffered through a lot of singers at funerals who just can't sing a lick. It makes it even more sad.
So I want a cappella music -- in the spirit of this thread, I'm thinking about a bagpiper with beard and kilt, blasting out something with a little zip to it.

I am 39. I have no beard and am bald and I dress well. I do however have a lot of tattoos though. I have a sleeve on my right arm and three pieces on my left arm. They are 2A tattoos, an American flag, Freddy Krueger, Jason Voorhees, and the Halloween 1 pumpkin holding the knife. And I have The Godfather logo in Italian. I’m sure many look at me and judge as being some freak or a loser but I am neither. I’m a Christian, a husband, and a father. I am respectful and call people mam and sir. I’ve raised my son to do the same. Sadly many in Gen X and beyond don’t follow suit. But I see many that haven’t been raised much at all.
In no way intending to be critical or judgmental. We all have different valid perspectives. But, why the tats??? Just never understood the need, benefit, value. I guess I can comprehend a serious warrior getting tats to commemorate the engagements survived and comrades lost. But, otherwise, I'm clueless. Any insight is appreciated. Trying to understand. Every time I see a girl with tats, my mind ponders how bad did she see her body that that is an improvement. Momma always spanked me for writing on our walls. :) :) :)

ummmm what am I missing here? If there are bag pipes involved, it's not a cappela.
