In the past four years (I think), I have purchased three handguns from Academy (OKC and Norman) and never had a bit of inconvenience. If their policy is that the employee has to carry the firearm to the door, that's fine, someone carried it into the store to begin with, and someone else carried it from the storeroom to the display area, and it didn't infringe on my rights one bit. Just employees doing their jobs.

Just because they have been assigned to work the gun counter, doesn't mean they are a gun person.

A customer goes to box stores to get the lowest possible price. To get knowledge, advice, instruction and possible alternatives; LGS is a better choice. Of course, that may also come with a higher price.

I have had knowledgeable workers at Academy, Atwood, even Wally Wawa; but they are the exception, not the rule.

Is this any different than going to Wally Wawa or the mechanic shop that has been in town for 25 years and is always busy?
Cheap oil change, engine rebuild, no idea what is needed?

Make your choice and live with results.
