I have a 98 Jeep XJ Cherokee, I would love to install a Cummins 2.8 liter crate.
They have a complete with Jeep motor mounts kit. I have a 4.0 liter six and considered going with a Edelbrock ported head setup, supposed to add 65 hp and 65 ft lb torque. But IMHO the baby Cummins is a better choice for longevity and fuel economy and performance

Read a list of companies that support and donate to gun control on a NRA news letter years ago, Cummins was one of them.
Man, if we start throwing poo everyone is gonna get dirty. First I don’t believe everything the NRA says. Most of it is fear mongering and pandering to donating customers to line their pockets.
Dont like Cummins? I bet you could just get a paccar/Detroit instead. Except paccar owns Detroit and the Paccar foundation uses funds from their commercial activities to support charities, to include the United way. The United way has made it very clear that they support gun control. So supporting paccar, Detroit, DAF, Peterbuilt, or freightliner means you support gun control too. Well, at least there’s always good old caterpillar. Except caterpillar doesn’t make road engines anymore, and to top it off, they’ve fired employees for having firearms locked within vehicles on company grounds. So supporting them is supporting restriction of gun freedoms.
To sum things up, it looks like if you pay for anything in your life that is shipped by a road going logistics vehicle like a tractor trailer or box truck, you’re supporting gun control. And don’t get me started on automobile manufacturers. If everything was an eye for an eye we would all be blind. Life is too short to care about that crap.

Good points and seems accurate to me. Is there any level where you think a person should change their business based on what these companies support?

I have a hankering for a project vehicle too.
Put up the jack $ and pick it up when done like TV shows.
Unfortunately, the budget may only allow for a project mini bike or something similar.

A fun project can be something useful and reasonable. Say you have a commute. Get an older Camry. Just finding the right one is a hobby in itself.

I did a lot of junkyard restorations back in the day when that was the only way to get a vehicle to drive.
Found a 61 Ford unibody pickup where the body and bed were one piece once decorating a creek bank that looked great other than no engine and no wiring. All wiring cut off under the dash.
Took most of a year to assemble a 312 CI Y block police interceptor engine with a dual point distributor, Crane roller cam, Mondello ported heads, and dual exhaust headers with dumps.
Too danged lazy now to go through all of that work. :hey3:

Picked up my new project today and I can’t wait to get into it: 1964 International pickup 1100 series with a 305 V8 3 on the tree all original never been molested…down to the original IH hubcaps

edit: this engine is a 304 not 305

Years ago I had a 65' Binder with the 266 cu in I think it was. Three on the tree and add on AC. It was a tank.
