Needed to set up the Grendel with my sightmark Wraith 4-32x50 HD digital night vision scope with IR. I'll record doing the sight in at 100. Was going to wait till my QD mount came in so I could zero on the gren and then on the 223/556 nato colt that matches the lower. You can program different guns and zeros as well as powers ect. No loss of zero when you move to another gun (same spot of course) and dial up the gun on the optic. ZERO
I'll still put the qd on, when I get it, so I have the option to interchange between guns. The 223/556 currently has the leupold hog pig plex 1x4 which is dead on solid, on it now so I think I'll just carry it in a back pack and use in twilight. The 223 is a hog killer. Some think you have to have a 308 to drop one and that bs. I do look forward to seeing how far the grendel can reach out with the night vision.

Looks great! I'd love to have a thermal, but as of yet, no pigs in any of my hunting areas. They are coming I'm sure.
The thermals are a few K and these night vision are outstanding for the money. I've used both but this is the first I've owned. Thermals pick up a lot but the heat signatures at distance is iffy. With night vision, if the IR can reach it, you can hit it. Some of the IR's are rated to 1000 to 1500 yds. The factory one I have on it, not bad for factory, I would expect to get 300 to 400 yds. Maybe more but I'll just have to see.

Be sooooooo glad you don’t have hogs. I’ve heard it said that there’s two kinds of people concerning hogs, those that have hogs and those that will have hogs.

One of my pastures is wrecked with all the rootings those suckers have made.

Buddy mounted some kind of night vision on top of his regular scope.
I was excited and needed to look through it and it was just a very powerful beam of green light.
Reminded me when we were kids and taped a flashlight under the barrel of the pellet rifle.

He finally got hogs at his place in Tecumseh so far just 6 and from videos it is a mommy and daddy and their 4 little ones.
Our plans are to make a round pen trap from welded wire panels.

We kill'em and drop'em. They eat their own and if they don't the turkdy buzzards will have it gone in a day or two

I've got 2 of the sightmark digital scopes. The first one s a battery eating monster, the second one is better. different models I got from outdoor legacy. I've only killed an armadillo and coyote from my back porch . From my experience, the digital scopes are not so good in foggy, rainy conditions. The IR reflects back and washes out the view.
