To eliminate a few replies: we don't want to shoot it and so far, it won't go in a baited live trap. I thought maybe throw a net over it. We have a cat that we have been feeding twice a day for over a year and it looks like he needs to go to the vet. I can get close but, he won't let anyone touch him. His eyes are kind of matted up and he acts like he's sick. We would take him to the vet if we could catch him. I don't have a dart gun either.

Foot hold trap works for me and usually only hurts the toes for a bit.
Never had one break a bone even on a chicken leg.

But know this a wild cat that is not used to being touched will NOT want to be touched.

I caught one in a trap after I got the kittens of hers in the trap and blocked 1/2 of it off.

I took the things to the pound and told the lady do not let that mother cat out as it is a wild cat and it will try and kill you.

That thing was ferocious when I went to pick up the trap biting on the wires and trip plate.
I told that lady 3 times do not let it out and she said 3 times it is just scared I am a professional it will be fine.

Big glass room and she let it out and I was outside the room.
That cat climbed up her leg and claws trying to scratch her wide open that lady could not get out of that room quick enough.

Blood running down her arms and neck and face.
I told her that is a wild cat not a tame one.
Bet she thinks twice before she does that again when warned.

But she knows best as she works at the pound and does this all the time.
I got my cage and left.
Of course another lady there got a med kit and was taking care of here before I left.

Be aware you may be opening a huge can of worms.
Maybe feed it some medicated food if there is such a thing for cats.

OMG that is hysterical ... Thank you for sharing that! 😂😂😂😂

I would just put some worker in it's food and call it good, if it were me. I'm not as quick as I used to be and I don't care to get bit one more time before I die. Good luck!!

(And no!! I'm not completely heartless. We feed a half dozen pretty feral cats every night. I am fond of each of them and worry if someone doesn't come up for a couple days. I still don't wanna try and catch any of them.

Look up "Drop Trap". They always worked when we were trying to trap the really smart feral cats. You do have to watch them from a distance and pull the rope. We have a group in Edmond that traps them, neuters andmedicates them and then returns them to their territory. It's the Edmond Community Cat Coalition and they TNR hundreds of cats every year.
