Well, I guess I'm out again. I don't have a VA card and was told that the wife and I make too much money (even in retirement) to qualify. And, since I don't have a service related disability, I don't get to get one that way either.

But, that is OK with me. I've seen too many other veterans that need VA assistance for medical, so it is good if they are getting treatment.
First, thank you for your service. Second, have your medical records re-examined and reapply for service related disability. There’s a place by the Riverwind(Norman, OK) called veterans corner, they assist veterans on getting evaluated/reevaluated for service related disability. You may not qualify for a disability payment but you can get a 0% which is used if further in the future the disability gets worse. I have a back related disability at 0% payment but it is in my records if it does get worse

Covid has dealt a pretty good blow to those at Veteran's Corner. After it hit, the center has been closed a lot. We were by there a couple of weeks ago and saw vehicles in the parking lot again, but as of the last few days we've gone to Norman to walk in the mall, they have been closed again. But, I'll watch and see if anything changes before we go back to our Summer jobs again.

Thanks.

I only go to Tinker to Base Hosp for my meds every 90 days, also the class VI. I order my 3 cases of whiskey 3,4 days early so I can pick them up same time as meds.
Used to the BX and commissary were a lot cheaper than off base. Not so much any more. After they built the latest BX, prices went up about equal to crest and wally world. High dollor items at the BX like guns, TVs, riding lawnmowers etc are cheaper because of no tax. I do like the gun counter at the BX, I have made some pretty good deals a few times. I used to buy fuel at the BX, but they went to all ethanol several years ago and I dont put that stuff in any of my vehicles. I have took my 2 Girls to the BX a few times a few years ago and they wernt inpressed with the prices. I dont go to the commissary anymore because the checkout lines are so long my hips and knees bother me. Now I cant take my Girls with me unless I go to front gate and get them a pass. A big pain in the backside. Plus,,, with the Navy on base now the BX and Commissary are too crowded for me.

How are class 6 prices compared to Byron’s in OKC?
