Looks like lots of folks are getting the latest iteration of COVID. I've been a little puny the last several days, figure it could be a cold but not real sure, the usual sinus problems with a cough but no fever, no chills. I had COVID in Feb last year, feels nothing like that.

I don't think I'll get tested, really no reason other than just for me to know. I work from home and don't have much contact other than with family that stops by.

What have you all been doing, getting tested regardless or only if you've got to meet a requirement to know/not know?

Well, may be good to know you need to isolate, not have friends/family over, etc

I didn't get tested. Felt bad enough I had absolutely no desire to get out. Never mind there were several days where I couldn't get out of bed without help.

I gotta wonder just how all this constant testing over and over and over is messing with the numbers. 🤷

oh well and also this:

https://www.bbc.com/news/uk-56556806
who is doing the testing, and how?
it's just a machine that dips into one tube, then into a tray, then into the next tube. if the worker sees someone's nasty covid snot hanging on the end of the pipette, maybe they just pull it off with their hands. maybe they leave it.

or this:

https://www.nbcnews.com/health/heal...-pop-sites-us-faces-multiple-probes-rcna12261
simply opening 300 testing sites in multiple states and just.....not doing the tests.

I haven't had it yet, but if I feel like I've got a cold I'll just do an at home test. Not worried about it, but I'd like to know if I have the antibodies for future reference.

If you feel sick, that should be standard protocol. Always has been in the past with colds and flu. Even employers supported that advice many years back.
Why would one want to be tested and become a government statistic? If you're sick and not at risk of becoming a fatality, why do anything but get over it and move on with your life like we always did?
