All of my previous tractors have been big farm stuff but since retiring bought a compact Mahindra with Front loader and so on.
If you can get a good deal with the Kubota, go for it. Great tractors with a history.
If the deal is too steep, consider looking at Mahindra. Pretty good machinery. When looking, I considered every brand made and money wasn't an object. I got sold on the Mahindra.
Not to start a what is best war, but it's what I decided on for my personal use and its gear driven. I use the front loader a lot to move material. The granny range is great to ease up to the pile of rock ultra slow under full power to get a full scoop.
The grapple attachment your looking at on the Kubota is priceless when clearing brush. If you end up not getting it, there are alternatives that work almost as well.
Discuss that when and if you need to look elsewhere.
Please don't get a Mahindra. They have a much higher incidence of failure. You can see this by doing a quick search for Mahindra tractors and seeing how many are being sold for cheap because of a bad engine. Go for a US or Japanese built tractor. The germans are pretty good at it as well.

I bought a Kubota L3400, manual clutch. I got it after the first of the year, 5-6 years ago, low hours, seller was a rancher and bought a new one every 3 years in January and sold the old one as a tax write off. He ran big tractors on the ranch and the wife ran the L3400 for around the house yard work.
I put on the quick attach adapter, 3rd function valving, and rear hydraulic connections. I then bought an Everything Attachment grapple, that thing is awesome. I move logs, rocks, scrape the ground with the teeth to tear out briars and rocks. I have a fork lift attachment, bucket, brush hog, finish mower, and box blade to maintain 20 acres. I use it all the time, and every time I use it I wish I had a bigger tractor.

Next tractor will be a Kubota 45 hp, HST, with rear hydraulics and 3rd function already on it (for grapple).

I bought a 35HP Kioti for my Son's farm, I've been very pleased with it. Glad we stepped up from the 25hp as I even find the limits of the 35hp occasionally. HST on it is great, especially since DIL uses it, so ease of use is great.

What year did the Mahindras start having engine issues. Every one of them I've been around have been worked hard, have have been solid since day one.

I have a Kubota L3430 GST. I've owned it for about 6 years. It's been a great little tractor but lifting round bales is a task. It will do it but it's at its limit. I use it for everything from brush hogging 20acres, blading the road, tilling the garden, pushing brush, plowing, lifting trusses, etc. If I were to buy a new tractor I would get a 40-60hp. 4x4 and a loader are 2 things I won't be without on a tractor.

So, we are under contract to purchase a home on 45 acres in the Bristow area. The sellers have a nearly new (still has the rubber nipples on the tires) 2019 Kubota L2501 with front loader, brush grapple and bale spear. Will try to negotiate a separate deal aside from the home on the Kubota and DR 34 ton Log Splitter he has. Seems willing to do it but thinking he's going to want top dollar for his machine. It has the HST transmission. On this size tractor it the HST reliable and do what it's supposed to do? I guess I'm asking if I forgo his Kubota and purchase a new tractor from a dealer do I get the HST or Shuttle trans? Which is better, more stout or better performance and longevity?
In my experience Kubota's are good equipment, the only drawback is you have to purces all replacenment parts from Kubota, and they are somewhat pricy! But the same would be true for most other top brands!
