I don’t know about you guys but I’ve really been struggling with negativity lately. Had knee replacement for the 3rd time since Nov of 2019 on the 17th. The good news is it’s getting better each day and I think they finally got it right this time.

I need to stay off of Twitter, read less news, and do what I can to help make the world a better place. I have a wonderful woman who loves me, best grandkids in the world, and no health issues besides the knee. Tell me something good happening in your world.

I’m tired of being a grouchy old fart. Almost shot the FedEx guy yesterday for getting on my lawn until I realized he was bringing me stuff I’d ordered.

Dude! You sound like me! LOL! :rollingla

But seriously, sounds like you do need a little revival in your life. First and foremost...TURN OFF THE DAMNED NEWS, TWITTER AND FACEBOOK! Delete your accounts entirely. That crap is toxic! OSA is the only online forum that I am a member of, but only because these guys are family. I still look at GlockTalk every now and then, but mostly just the classifieds.

Next, go back and read what you just wrote. You said, "I have a wonderful woman who loves me, best grandkids in the world, and no health issues besides the knee." Do you know how incredible that is? Do you realize how many folks out there can not say this about themselves? Just with those three things right there in your life, you are richer than you could ever fathom. Sounds to me like you only have one thing missing in your life...

Jesus Christ and His amazing love and salvation.

Now I'm not gonna get all preachy on you, but if it weren't for my God in Heaven, I seriously don't know where I would be right now.

Whenever I start feeling like you, I remind my self of that and then I do a few other things.
1. I watch It's a Wonderful Life with Jimmy Stewart.
2. I go out of my way to watch a sunrise and a sunset. Very therapeutic.
3. I watch the below video and thank God that these soldiers and sailors get to come home to their families. These kind of videos really make me think about life and this country and those willing to put themselves in harm's way to ensure and provide the blanket of freedom that my family and I rest under. I have a niece in the Navy, stationed way out in San Diego, and she gets to come home twice a year. I so look forward to those two times.

Good luck to you my brother. It's a healing process, so don't expect to wake up tomorrow and be "all better." At our age (I'm 53) we're cynical, stubborn and bullheaded, so we gotta take baby steps, but it'll happen. Life is too short to go through it as a crochety old bastard. PM me anytime you wanna talk. :comfort:

Dude - you need to read what you wrote right there.

Talk to the guys that have lost their wives. (there was a thread here just the other day)

Talk to some guys that have lost their children or grandchildren.

You have it made. Screw the rest of the world.

Here, but occasionally There.
I can't say anything better than what GED and TK just wrote. ALL of their comments AND yours with regards to appreciation of wife and other family is reason enough to be uplifted.

Go through my website in the signature area below and see the beauty around us. Maybe even load up the wife and go see some of that. Seeing God's beautiful creation ALWAYS lifts me up.

I'm still here and making Grumpy miserable. Just ask him ... Speaking of ...

@Snake ... Seriously ...

I can still get around to where I need to be when I need to be there. I can still pet my dogs. They love me when everyone else on the planet hates me with a passion. I have a roof over my head and food in the cabinets. Americans have completely forgotten just how good they have it. Sometimes I'm just as guilty of that as the next guy ...

I distanced myself from some of my friends that were mostly negative.
I almost made an older lady cry yesterday.

I am allowed to hunt on her property and keep it up for free for the privilege.

I remove dead trees and she hates all those cedar trees that grow on it.
I took one of those cedars and built a few benches and tables.

I gave her a bench the other day she had no idea I made anything from the cedar.
When she seen it she backed up and said NO NO NO NO NO This is not mine this can't be mine.
I love it soooo much NO NO NO it can't be.
I have always wanted one of these but they are not nice looking or too expensive if they are.
Thank you sooo much OH MY Goodness I love it.

I think I made her day.
I have a matching small table or stool she will also get when I get some rubber feet in.

Here is a picture or 3 of ones I made but not the ones she got.. looks really close though.
I did not take pictures of hers.
The little table she will get will probably make her blow a gasket.

My buddies dad (75 years old) is her best friend and I made a bench for him also and delivered it yesterday.
He was pretty impressed with it and him and his son (my fishing buddy) sat on it and drank a couple beers together.

Making old folks smile. Does not get any better than that.
I did let my buddy help build it since it was for his dad. I had him sanding it and put multiple coats of shinola on it.

Thank you. I have a better relationship with Jesus now than I’ve ever had in my life. I’m working on it and he’s working on me. I just get caught up in negativity both here and other places on the internet. Thank you to everyone who has shared so far. It’s just so easy to focus on the wrong things that don’t matter. Coffee, this guy, and reading some of these posts has started me off on a good day.
