Hearts For Hearing is a great place that won’t try to sell you if you don’t need them. My test was borderline right now. My girlfriend got a test at the same time and needed hearing aids. Now she can hear what I say and loves every word.

I’ve got some, really hate that I had to get them but life rolls on.

I wear the Resound and they are pretty good I guess, never had any before these. They are rechargeable, over the ear, have had them 2-21/2 years never had any trouble wit them.

I got them from Pro Hearing in OKC I believe.
I also have the Resound. I got them local so I can get adjustments and filters without having to drive. COSTCO sells them a little cheaper. They were around 8K with BCBS insurance paying almost half. I have severe loss in my good ear and profound loss in my bad ear. Most of the time I like them but they are going to take a while to get used to. I had to have a mold of my ear canal made for mine. You have to realize hearing aids aren't the magical solution and they won't make your hearing like it was when you were in your 20's, but it will be better.

l have had sams club hearing aids for about 5-6 years and so far no issues with em. They will give you a new hearing test and adjust the hearing aids for free so l do that about once a year..........the biggest thing that helps is to train your wife to be in the same area as you are and to look at you when she talks to ya not look away from ya.

This is my second set, l can't remember the name of the high dollar first set, but make sure of the warranty AND repair cost etc.. etc.. they were more hassle than they were worth and the company wanted to nickel and dime me to death.

Do they help yep kinda sorta like at home watching tv or in quiet small family groups. If you are trying to watch tv or reading and the wife is cooking dinner or washing dishes it will sound like a you are sitting in the middle of the percussion section of the orchestra and when a cabinet door or drawer is closed it's a bang every time. I finally put felt pads on all the cabinet doors and drawers.

At a restaurant with a lot of background noise nope, outside in the Oklahoma wind very irritating, around screaming kid ......holy cow ya can't turn em off quick enough. If you work in a somewhat loud to really loud environment nope they'll drive ya nuts.

As yall can tell I'm not really impressed by any of em I've tried. Would l buy another set l really don't think so because they may help a little in specific situations they just remind me of a scam or snake oil salesman.......they promise more than you get

My first set of hearing aids were Oticon and they were an amazing improvement for me. I have had tinitus for over 40 years, and they seemed to make it just disappear. The VA in Pensacola, Florida did an exceptional job from start to finish. After I moved back to Oklahoma, I got Phonak. Both sets use regular batteries, because I didn't want rechargables. The batteries last about 3 days. Both brands came with a streaming device to allow me to hear the TV sound without blasting everyone else out of the room. The Phonak seems to mute other sounds when I am streaming. That makes it difficult to hear my wife's speech when I am watching TV. I do not like that "feature". When I get new ones, I'll probably go back to Oticon. Oklahoma wind is certainly more obnoxious with hearing aids. Riding motorcycles with them should be avoided. I always remove them before using grinders, saws, and lawnmowers. Overall, I believe hearing aids are an absolute miracle. If the audiologist got a good test, the aids will really help you hear what you need to hear, without overpowering you in the frequency ranges where your hearing has less damage. You will hear details in music that you forgot about decades ago. Sometimes I forget they are even in my ears, until I go to bed and hear the squall of the feedback when I lay my head on the pillow.

Overall, they aren't perfect, but they are still an absolute miracle and I sure wouldn't want to be without them.

I have really bad tinnitus. The VA just set me up with hearing aids a few months ago. They're nice enough. But very annoying to me. They seem to amplify annoying sounds like paper rustling or crunching, and little ticking sounds from various things. I thought maybe they were tuned wrong but went back to the audiologist and he checked my ears and the aids and said they should be exactly where I need them to be.

I can't hear certain voices any better than I can without them.

I was also told they might make the tinnitus less noticeable...they don't. As a matter of fact, when I take the hearing aids out the tinnitus seems worse.

I rarely even wear them now.

I do like the Bluetooth feature. Pretty neat to use a cell phone thru the hearing aids.

I'm probably the exception, though. Most people seem to really see a quality of life improvement with them. I don't.

I've worn them since December 2014. My first set was Oticon, battery powered. Batteries lasted just about a week. I now have Unitron rechargeables. A charge will last "all day." The longest I have stretched them was from 3A.M. until about 10 or 11P.M. that same night. By then, they were just about dead. I have never been fully satisfied with the performance of either brand. My Unitron supposedly have all the bells and whistles, but I doubt the effectiveness of some of their features. I love that they pair with my cell phone. That is the best of the features as far as I'm concerned. They also pair up with the TV, but that is FAR from perfect. I have yet to find the right combination/volume setting to allow me to hear the TV and personal conversations at the same time. I am constantly adjusting the volume to hear the TV, or my wife, or the TV, or my wife ... and I mean constantly. Cost was $4K for each pair, and Medicare/Insurance paid nothing. They are far from perfect.
