Plenty of tag agents, find one that appreciates your business and then take all your business there.
I bought a used RAZR, went to my tag agent to transfer the title. pay the excise tax! I can't remember or sure, but it was about $400.00 I think. I was floored by this, but payed it. I started calling around to other agents to see if this was correct, or not. One lady at an another towns tag agency ask me if I had a Farm Tax number, which I did, and told me it was legal to use that on these fees. I called my agent back and told them to hold my check, and check to make sure this was permitted, and I would be right up. It was leagal they just didn't know about this rule, and I got my check back, I think it cost less than $20.00 in fees! It never hurts to shop around!

Here, but occasionally There.
I don't know if I've mentioned this before now, but we went in to arrange for clear title on our RV after we got it paid off. The lady in the tag agency told us that "they" (presuming the legislature) wanted to do away with the tag agents in the state and have one place per county for folks to do their tags and stuff. Maybe Oklahoma, Tulsa, and perhaps the county in which Lawton is located will have more than one, but who knows?

That will be a nightmare situation from my way of thinking.

I had heard the same. I believe it is one of the thousand proposed bills the state house and senate write up at the start of this years session. I never heard anything else about it. It likely never made it out of committee.

FYI. I found this out the hard way a month ago. When you purchase a new car and do all your TTL at the tag agent, your plate doesn't renew at that time. Your plate keeps its original expiration date.

I was in a wreck in 2021 and had to get a new car. I did my TTL at the agent in March and my tag expired in April. I thought at the time my tag was renewed for 12 months from that date. I was wrong. I was hit with a year worth of penalties and the new renewal in March of this year. Also, our special plates no longer will have silver year stickers. They're all the same dark blue 2023 stickers.

I had to make an appointment three months out here in Shawnee at one of our tag offices to get the realID. I went in and got it and walked out with a temporary piece of paper. Got the actual license in the mail about two weeks later. Then about a year goes by and I notice my license is about to expire. I called and asked how this could be since I got a new license and they said since I came in before it expired they just treated it as I was replacing a license. So I had to make another appointment and go in a pay for another license. Dang crooks. The realID is a bunch of crap. I think it has a chip that the government can track. Anytime the feds get involved it ain’t for the good of us.
