3 days would be the max. clean And refill.
My feeders go 2 -3 weeks for sure even in summer. (if hummers dont get rid of it all first) I clean container well before filing. I use filtered tap water, bring it to a low boil, turn off the burner and add sugar. let cool of course before filling containers. I just dont get the mold hardly ever. I use water and white sugar only. no coloring etc.

This is my process as well. I was cleaning the feeders with white vinegar but it seemed like I could get all the vinegar residue out of the bottle. My wife suggested lemon juice and I’ve done that this year but it seems like both cleaning methods don’t help with the funk growing.

I use hot water mostly to clean when refilling. about every other time I use dish soap with hot water. rinse really well in both cases with hot water.

With this cooler weather, our backyard is like a 12 lane super highway right now. There are 4-6 chasing each other around the whole time. Sorry for the crappy pic. I need to clean my lens.

There’s no way I could video all of this. We have 3 and 4 birds whipping by our heads at a time. Pretty cool stuff.
Watch close. There will be a male guarding the feeder, perhaps 2 or 3 males. It/they will allow the females to feed, but attack another male.

At least, that's the way it is around my feeder.
