I bought a prepay phone at wally world and just took it and my old flip phone to the AT&T store and they cut me a new sims card to fit and transfer all my info onto it for free. I think i gave less than $50 for the phone and it does everything in need it to do and then some that i dont care about.
Same here. I bought a Samsung AS(?). Not really up on the latest and greatest but I see no difference between my $200 unlocked Samsung and my wifes new Samsung. Neither can she. She still wants to get the new Samsung when it comes out though.

I bought my phone off of Amazon, Galaxy S10e, unlocked. Took it and my old phone to the AT&T store and they swapped everything over for me.
That was maybe a couple years ago though. We no longer have AT&T, now with Consumer Cellular.
and consumer cellular is owned by AT&T

It’s time for a new phone so I looked up some models and called the local ATT location to see what they have in stock and the prices.

He said he really can’t give me a price. Basically you have to enter into some sort of payment agreement. He said it had to with new laws. Anyone know the details on this? Last year they would let you pay up front for a phone.
if you don't streem alot of data/video - and do mostly look up and gps/map stuff + unlimited talk and text then look at Consumer Cellular your service will be at a fraction of the price and they are owned by AT&T with same towers

I used to work for AT&T in the stores and I was a manager for Cingular back in the day. Times have changed but some things remain the same. The prices on the AT&T website are the same price in the store. One of the reasons I got a Google Pixel 6 Pro instead of my usual Samsung S20+ was the updates. If you want the latest updates for your firmware, software, and apps then the Pixel is the way to go. Updates are dependent upon the carrier and AT&T is notorious for being the last to rollout updates. With a Pixel, updates are automatic with Google and not AT&T.
