Who eats sardines, if so, how?

Are Sardines gutted and prepared for human consumption? Or are they caught, processed and canned with their guts, poop and all? I can't see a machine gutting them and it would be cost prohibitive to have humans gut them. I'm asking for a picky dog.

I eat all of them right from the can and drink the juice. Not picky about the kind but that goes without saying.

I do not care for crackers.
Crackers are good in meatloaf.
Wife buys crackers but I could go my entire life without them.

Gutted. Here is one video showing the process, other articles refer to machines that do it but I didn't find a video of that.

don't try that high end canned tuna either because it will ruin you i have also tried the hand packed smoked oysters and they are so much better but they aren't that much more.

yes I'll eat them. I don't too often but, I was raised on the East coast where we had all knds of seafood fresh and canned.

I like them packed with hot sauce right out of the can. Also like canned herring a lot.
