Very sorry for your loss, 4 years seems like yesterday.

My Mom just spent 22 days in the hospital. She had a UTI that went septic. She is now staying at my house while trying to rebuild some strength, she turned 80 two days after getting out of the hospital.

My Mother inlaw at age 82 had a UTI, she went septic. She was placed on full life support. My wife was not even told her Mom was sick (just the first 9 days) let alone flown to a place in OKC and placed on life support. It is never good to get a call from the attending physician at 2 AM. Not how you want to learn about Mom being sick.

After almost 3 weeks my wife, alone, her brother was busy and would not answer his phone, had to decide what to do. The machines were turned off, it was quickly over. Going to her Moms house we ran into the brother, he lived in the house with MIL. The house was mostly empty but we found her legal papers, she had 4 different DNR's, I guess brother did not mention them so time was made to clear out her place. For my wife deciding to remove the life support was just awful, then finding out it was not to have been used really upset her.

To keep my wife and my Mother less stressed out I now have two urns in my room, my Father and MIL sit on a shelf, this is the best the two of them have ever gotten along.

Bro, I feel ya! :comfort:

The passing of my mother and father (exactly 10 days later) was quite a circus and fiasco. My brother's wife was my mother's rottweiler. She was the only one who knew about my mother's wicked and selfish plan, and she was chosen to make for certain things were carried out to the letter.

Mom knew that if she would have even breathed one word of her scheme to me or my two brothers, it wouldn't have happened. But yet, she knew my sister in law was just evil enough to help her carry out her suicide.

IMO, that's pure evil and demonic.

How this woman can live with herself is beyond me. She was told who could visit my dying father and who could not. Even my father's baby sister wasn't allowed to visit him on his deathbed.

This woman was in control of what funeral arrangements were to be made...which were NONE. Her and dad were both cremated, against dad's wishes, and, this is what gets me, a head stone was erected in a little community that my mother used to talk trash about when I was a kid. I mean...why even have a marker when your corpse isn't there? Hell, we never even had a funeral or memorial service, because my mother "allegedly" didn't want one.

Yeah, it was a big gotdamn mess.

4 years, wish I could tell you it gets easier with more time passing but.......
My mom passed when I was 28, I'm now 69. We still talk everyday, the ache and a tear always there.
Prayers to you.
