I'm sure this is no news to anyone on this forum, but I've had to talk to a few family members about rising tension in society.

I have seen more public altercations and road rage incidents in the past six months than I've ever seen in my life. People getting into confrontations over stupid stuff, turning a small issue or perceived wrong into reasons to release frustration and anger. Went through Fort Worth on Friday to get to a job in Waco, and saw three road rage incidents as I drove through on I-35. The other day some people got into a fight in a Walmart parking lot over a shopping cart. Everyone is on edge, people are more confrontational, and seemingly have less care to give. Society is seething right now, and it seems to me that it is going to boil over into something really nasty. We all know the reasons why, but this isn't about the politics or economics of it.

My brother is hot-headed as it is, and I had a pretty intense conversation with him about him needing to cool it off a bit and be smarter about stuff. I've had to tell my nieces and nephews to be more aware of their surroundings rather than being on their phones ignoring everything around them. Had to tell my sister to not drive so aggressively. I don't like having to tell them, but I'm scared they're going to get into a little incident and then it escalates into something no one wants to deal with.

Anyways, just a reminder that things are getting crazy and worse. You might think about having some discussions with your family, especially if you know they are maybe more susceptible to confrontation, like my brother, or if they are more oblivious to the current state of things, like the younger ones in my family. I know having that talk with my brother was a good thing, as difficult as it was. Stay safe, ya'll.
I agree with your premise, but I’m not going to lecture my family or friends on how they should act. I still “parent” my kids even though my boys are 28 and 30 and on their own, but I don’t agree with lecturing a grown ass adult on how he/she should conduct themselves….except Deerslayer because that old fart needs all the help he can get.
And he didn’t even shoot your dog once?
That’s the ATF’s M.O. and not necessarily the cops.

Economic crisis is already happening, you watch society for where it will cut expenses.

1. Pets
2. Vices (alcohol and cigarettes)
3. Food budget
4. Transportation

You all will be seeing packs of dogs pretty soon, shelters are no longer taking them in, in Del City there are many roaming dogs and cats already that we see.

With hobbies and vices, less and less are smoking and marb has cut out three types of cigarettes, they are moving towards SNUS products as are the others.

I have seen less and less people at ranges since rona myself, ones that I do are one mag then leave, which is odd to me of the point.

Food costs are absurd, so many backyard gardens around the city, and wild chickens strewn across some areas like 63rd and macaurther? I highly suggest you (if feasible) get Walmart plus and purposely make your grocery order while in the store and guarantee yourself substitutions for products where you can.

Transportation is the one that is gonna just decimate the state, our public transportation is a joke, absolutely a joke. You need a car in Oklahoma and carpooling isn't gonna happen lol, 99% of people are so dissatisfied with their jobs because of their coworkers, that we gonna get First 48 across the metro and not just Tulsa.

Far as the general temperament of people....I am in Philly right now, was in CT last week round New Haven, and all across I-95 there are people in 4wheelers or dirt bikes, with elderly people trying to run them off the road, cops have essentially just said "NOPE" and are reactive only.

Public hates them anyways now. There are so many shootings across the major cities that people have just stopped or have turned to taking it into their own hands.

Coming out here I noticed that there ain't any DEF, no diesel engine oil, and not much diesel in truck stops for that matter, coolers are bare, as are shelves.

When I was in NYC over at Staten Island people walk into stores and fill up a cart then just walk out, no mask no nothing just brazen and uncaring....hoping for someone to say something.

Just last week Michigan Sheriff's said they dont have the allocation in funds for fuel in their patrol cars, and are urging officers to settle disputes over phone when allowed.

Other than our house my wife and I have a couple credit cards with medium balances. We do have my SUV which is almost $500 a month. I am thinking hard about selling (have some equity) and buying a more affordable vehicle with cash.
This should put us in a position to wipe out our cc debt quickly and continue our savings and preparation for the impending downward spiral
The only things I owe on are my house in OK and my daughter’s Jeep. My loan on my house has a fixed interest rate for 5 years, and then the loan is refinanced at whatever the current rate is. With rates going up like they are, I’m throwing money at my loan to pay it off before it’s refinance time. I’ve actually got the money to pay it off now but don’t want to cash strap myself. When I bought my house up there 3 years ago, I used my local bank here in TX, and because the property is out of state, they required me to use my place here as collateral. So paying off that loan would free up both my houses.

My wife was like that wanted to have that nest egg in the savings while I paid interest on the Home loan.
We have and had it then medical insurance and car and house insurance of course and so what is that nest egg doing?

Not much.
I paid off the house in 25 months after i first purchased it.
Amazing how quickly that nest egg builds back up when you are not paying interest of $270 a month and principal of $280 a month.

I figured it out every time I put another 280 into my payment that killed off or saved me $270.
No better investment than that.

Of course ya end up with enough money to buy another house pretty soon and then another and another.
All paid off.
Of course I save a lot on groceries based on what I eat. You guys know what I eat.

Can't say I have seen much change. Being around Ft Sill and Lawton, they drive like idiots anyway. A red light means 6 more cars, minimum.

Shelves are empty. Prices rising. Panhandlers everywhere.

I was planning retirement. Now, who knows.

For the present time, Wif's car is not paid for. My truck, 2 houses, land and cattle are mine. Backyard garden is making.

Stock market crash worries me. Idiots in goobermint destroying savings and social security is a given. Cash is disappearing.
Moron pResident promised $10 gas and rolling blackouts. August should be fun.

Civil war, riots, roving gangs; our doors are always locked and gun within easy reach.

Can't say that I have seen anything even remotely resembling what you are describing.

I travel a lot, driving into some sketch areas as I do inspections on bucket trucks for utilities and such. Got to travel on site to do them as well.

Usually I do 5k miles a month, sometimes more in each little tiny town around and in major cities along the east coast and Midwest.

I was in a parking lot at Swadleys in El Reno and backing up my van. I couldn't see very well but i did hear a loud motorcycle engine revving up so I slammed on the brakes. I had almost hit a guy on a chopper behind me. If it weren't for his revving engine, I would have smeared him. I thought to myself, that revving of his engine was a whole lot more effective than a pissy little meep horn for a bike. I always tell everyone in a motorcycle conversation about this because it might save their life.
