Agreed and like I said, I am sure most of those were caused by humans. I just think the Glock design makes human error more likely. Heck I have not carried a striker fired handgun since the late 70s when a friend shot himself in the a$$ with my old MAB model D 380. He went to shove it in his back pocket without the safety on and something tripped the trigger. He swears his finger was not on the trigger so maybe the corner of his wallet is all I can figure.

Remember a year or so ago I had one of this small Smiths 9mms and could not get comfortable enough with it carry more than a few times. I traded it off for a RIA 9mm 1911 and could not be happier.

Heck I admit I am old fashion and my preferred carry would be a single action revolver if people did not freak out.

And yet there are discharges recorded every year with them. Look man, not everyone is that well trained and if they are having trouble scrapping up the money for a Glock, just how much training do you think they can afford? Even many cops have issues keeping their finger off the trigger as the quotes I posted show.

Bottom line, you have your opinion and I have mine and all the big fonts in the world are not going to change that. Someday I ever fire one a lot without problems, maybe. But I have shot friends and did not.

I have fired a lot more reliable Taurus, etc than I ever have ARs, and I DO NOT TRUST STRIKER FIRED WITHOUT A SAFETY. Heck I even like the grip safety on my 1911.
You’re responses are absolutely baseless. You have made one ridiculous accusation after about striker fired firearms. Followed by your supposed bad experience with an AR. Total and complete hogwash. Live your delusion man. But stop responding to this thread with baseless unresearched statements.

This thread makes me want to buy a Taurus just to confirm how big of a piece of crap it is.

Edit: I have shot Taurus revolvers before and was not impressed. I would like to put hands on a new one to see what they are like now.

It’s a complete impossibility to have a poor experience with every AR you pick up. Sounds more like bias to keep this discussion progressing.
If you have only used an M-16a1 while in the service, it is very easy to develop a hatred for the platform like a large number of old vets have. As far as blanket statements look at how this thread started. We have a few more than willing to run down other people's firearms, but theirs are freaking golden. They can't handle the heat, stay out of the kitchen.

I post my personal opinion based on my experience, and post by experts reporting accidents and negligent discharges. In my personal opinion the AR platform sucks and I do not trust any striker fired firearm without a manual safety. Period, your results may vary.

Back to the original point of this thread how can you attack something without trying it? How can you make blanket statements about a brand being crap when millions of others have used them with no problem, and then get ticked off when someone turns it around on you?

I had a Taurus Judge that never failed me...over all 3 rounds I ever fired thru it. Each one kilt a rattlesnake.

There's a need for lower priced guns just like there's a need for lower priced cars and houses and everything else. I'd rather someone who was able to scrape together $250 buy a used Taurus (or some other lower-priced brand) and some ammo to defend their home with than not be afforded that opportunity.

@RickN

’Im ex Military too sor. I’ve shot full auto M-16. While they are fun spray with, semi auto is much controllable and ammo efficient.

My statement isn’t anymore of a blanket statement than yours regarding Glocks and ARs.

There sure are a lot of M16A1 rifles on the NFA register that run fine. I trained people as a "Red Hat" in the Air Force (COANG at Buckley ANGB in Denver) to shoot them in the 90s. 25 or 30 year old M16A1 rifles. They all worked just fine. And when one didn't due to parts breakage or something like that (which is normal for any gun in that type of life) we fixed them. And they worked again. More often than not any "problem" was either operator induced or magazine related. Someone in whatever CG unit you were in apparently failed in their job to properly maintain a gun or didn't teach you how to operate/maintain your gun properly.

I’d have to agree with you. But like the beginning of this thread started it was about a “Performance Center” like gun coming from Taurus. Taurus is not that type of company from what I can tell and should probably not try passing their quality off on a new type of revolver they’re offering and call it “Executive Grade”.
