Oklahoma seemed to make a good first impression on actor Sylvester Stallone.

“I’m here in the Paris of the Southwest, called Oklahoma,” Stallone said when landing in the state earlier this year to film the upcoming series Tulsa King. “I like it, seriously.”

But now a few months later, shooting in the intense summertime heat of the Sooner State appears to have gotten to the 76-year-old actor. Oklahoma City alone has seen over a dozen days in July with a daily high of 100 degrees or more.

"Being in Oklahoma has definitely prepared me for a lifetime in hell if I ever got sent there," Stallone wrote on Instagram in response to a reply from Andrew Dice Clay.

Fans on Instagram stayed positive and hope Stallone enjoys his time in Oklahoma.

"Other than the heat, we all hope you enjoy it here," one fan said in response to Stallone. "The people are cool and there’s always something to do."

Another fan said: "Unfortunately, you managed to catch the hottest summer we've had here in a while."

Stallone has filmed Tulsa King in and around Oklahoma City along with the Tulsa area. He's taken in various local sites such as Cattlemen's Steakhouse and the National Cowboy & Western Heritage Museum while in the state.

Before I get all misty at his suffering, I'm reminded of his stance on the Second Amendment: "..a guy who has attained a ludicrous fortune through cinematic “gun violence,” all the while claiming the right for himself while undermining yours. Stallone’s total in-your-face hypocrisy on the matter makes it fair to ask why any gun owner rights advocate would give him another dime.

Until America, door to door, takes every handgun, this is what you’re gonna have,” Stallone declared after comedian Phil Hartman was murdered by his wife. It wasn’t just an observation, it was a recommendation:

“It’s pathetic. It really is pathetic. It’s sad. We’re living in the Dark Ages over there. It has to be stopped, and someone really has to go on the line, a certain dauntless political figure, and say, ‘It’s ending, it’s over, all bets are off.’ It’s not 200 years ago, we don’t need this anymore, and the rest of the world doesn’t have it. Why should we?”
That pretend warrior Stallone should call on government raids to disarm millions of real veterans and the rest of his countrymen goes beyond hypocritical. It’s contemptible. And he didn’t stop there.

I care less what an actor says, all I care about is for them to entertain me when I sit down and watch a show.
Their opinion or their personal life is of ZERO concern to me.

I am that way to a slight degree, however -

the money they generate either directly (movie tickets, subscriptions) or indirectly (ad revenue, views) funds them, and often in turn funds their groups that seek to take away my rights.

Hollywood in general hates guys like me, portray us as villains, why should I fund them or support them in any way?

Eh, feel free to dislike Sly for his political stands, but this was obviously a joke, just like Trump's story about wanting to award himself the Medal of Honor. It may not be the funniest joke ever told, but he's hardly the first one to make it.
Thank you, Captain Obvious.

But his declaration that neither you nor I are fit subjects to own firearms is no joke.

But you go ahead and support this creep with your theater dollars, knowing that in real life, he holds you in contempt (since you have the temerity to own a handgun).

90% of celebrities are douchebags, but I still enjoy some celeb's work. Sadly, I quit being a fan of Stallone when he made those two disaster movies Rhinestone and Stop! Or My Mom Will Shoot!

Of course, they all do. I mean, look at Arnold. He made both Twins and Junior and don't forget that trainwreck Jingle All the Way.

I suppose ever tough guy feels like he needs to make a kiddie movie to prove he's not just an animal, hell, I dunno. But yeah...Rambo can go screw.
