Glock 45 (9mm) slide on a gen 3 Glock 17 frame? Will it work? And, should I? Or, shouldn’t I?

Hello all. I have a sweet Glock 17 gen 3 frame in OD. I would like to put a Glock 45 (9mm) MOS slide on it. This would be for my EDC. Would this work? Would it be reliable? So, should I? Or, shouldn’t I? Thanks all.

Glock 45 has a 19-length slide. Glock 19 slides have different rail slots and won't fit on a 17 frame.

I'm not sure the 45 slide will fit any gen3 or 4 frames either, they will fit the gen 5 G19 frames.

Yes but I understand a Glock 45 is a 19 slide on a 17 frame. So why wouldn’t it?
