The barrel has finally arrived. The only thing I don't have yet is a bipod because I haven't decided on one. I will be Duracoating the barrel this weekend and then it will need a little time to cure before I assemble the upper. The lower is assembled and the Timney Calvin Elite trigger I put in feels great. I can't wait to try it out once I've got it all together. It will be a substantial sized rifle with the 24" bull barrel on. The barrel has a 1 in 7 twist and a match grade chamber. I'll post a pic when it's finished.

1:8 is the "normal". It works quite well for bullet weights/lengths best suited for the Grendel (100-130gr).

Most barrels I've seen were the standard 1:8. I'm sure one could go faster, but I don’t recall seeing a twist rate other than that from most manufacturers.

No, not quite boss. Standard is 1:8 twist for 6.5 Grendel barrels for most manufacturers. I know Wilson Combat, Ballistic Advantage, Odin Works, and Faxon all only advertise 1:8.

Maybe you could get something faster that is already spun up? I'm sure you can get a custom barrel made with a faster twist rate. I don't know why though as 1:8 will stabilize anything up to 140gr. Trying to stick a 156 Berger in a Grendel would reduce the case capacity so much that the juice wouldn't be worth the squeeze.

1:8 is ideal for Grendel-class bullet lengths and weights.

Yeah I know all that...well versed in it actually. I guess I should say that a 1-7 isn't going to do any harm and there will most likely be zero issues. I've shot 6.5CM and 260 Rem in 1-7 in the past and they performed fine. Anything tighter can get squirrelly, but yes, 1-8 is the generally accepted spec for a 6.5.
