Sorted a ton of 9mm brass tonight and was curious what everyone else stays away from. My very recent 9mm reloading experience has shown me that with my tools to stay away from Remington brass. For some reason my Lee Bench Primer doesn’t like it.

I also toss the Winchester military stuff. I think it’s stamped WMA and then a date. I’ve noticed some of that stuff is primer crimped. Im just not going to take the time to swage them and my press isn’t a progressive with swaging built in. I found some WMA 15 that was not crimped though so I kept that. Gonna search back through my 9mm scrap bucket and double check them all.

Other than the two I stated above I haven’t really found any others that cause me fits. How about y’all?

CBC, wont chamber with Hornandy HAP's in the CZ's or X Caliber. I'm guessing, cause i haven't measured, that it's thicker and with the HAP's being .356 it hangs just enough that they wont go into battery.

I use it all, have not noticed any problems with any one certain brand. I do stay away from the crimped
military stuff though. I am running rcbs carbide dies. I can tell when I size anything out of a Glock
it is not as noticable on 9mm as 40. I will still have that little Glock bulge. I sort out my nickle brass
and use that for carry rounds, so I can tell at a quick glance what it is. I even loaded a bunch
aluminum case stuff, in 9mm and .45. I did as an experiment, and at the time I did not have
very much .45 brass.

But if we are being real guys… why take the time to swage 9mm brass when there’s so many more pieces around that aren’t crimped that can be picked up. Yeah the crimp only has to be removed once, but how many times are y’all reloading your 9mm brass? that is if you find your exact pieces of brass too.

I did get the Dillon super swage tool to do .223/5.56 but there seems to be a lot more of that stuff that’s crimped. Still haven’t used it to be honest…

But on .308, if it has a crimp I just remove the crimp with my Frankford Arsenal case prep trim center.. I put the RCBS large crimp remover bit in it. I’m only doing about 20 at a time though if they’re crimped.

Have any of you guys run into the Norma 9mm brass with the small flash holes? Terrible stuff, it will stop a progressive press dead. The primer de-capping pin in my Dillon dies will not go into the flash hole on Norma brass at all. add this this that some of the flash holes are off center.

Well the only brass i get is what i shot or sometimes a family member will bring me some, but since the only range i use is on the family farm so there is very little strange brass laying around for me to pick up.

This is potentially good for me to know, since I have several CZs. If you don't mind; what is your OAL of your loaded rounds, and what weight bullets are you using?

I've noticed that once I get much further out than 1.030, my CZs start to run into chabering issues with 115 and 124gr bullets.
