One other thing, I plunk test on all new bullets when switching.

I have a case gauge that I use after sizing just to be sure that anything that might have came out of a Glock is okay to shoot. However, anything close to the 1.169 OAL just won't chamber in my CZs. I have specific handloads for those.

124gr Remington Golden Saber rounds wouldn't chamber in any of them either, but 115gr Barnes Vortex will. The chambers appear to be cut a bit shorter.

I mostly reload range brass I pick up myself and the only things I tend to throw away are aluminum cases and the ones with 2 flash holes that I can't de-prime with my Lee Turret press. I don't think I've ever come across a mil crimp in pistol brass, but I'll keep an eye out for it now.
The mil crimps in 9mm brass will sometimes have a red stain around the primer pocket. I think this is because in addition to crimping the darn thing they add some sort of a sealant or waterproofing to the primer.

Sorted a ton of 9mm brass tonight and was curious what everyone else stays away from. My very recent 9mm reloading experience has shown me that with my tools to stay away from Remington brass. For some reason my Lee Bench Primer doesn’t like it.

I also toss the Winchester military stuff. I think it’s stamped WMA and then a date. I’ve noticed some of that stuff is primer crimped. Im just not going to take the time to swage them and my press isn’t a progressive with swaging built in. I found some WMA 15 that was not crimped though so I kept that. Gonna search back through my 9mm scrap bucket and double check them all.

Other than the two I stated above I haven’t really found any others that cause me fits. How about y’all?
You might also keep your eye out for brass head stamped IMI as it will have a step or shoulder inside the case about half way down. This evidently served a purposein the new ammo but for us reloaders it presents two problems first the case capacity is significantly less and what was a modest load in a regular case in now at or over max pressure in the steped case. Also I have personally seen a stepped case that failed at the shoulder and left the section of the case above the shoulder in the chamber which required some focused profanity and was a challenge to remove.

I’ve ran into the brass with a red sealant but the primers weren’t crimped I don’t think. I’ll double check though if I run across one in the future.

I sorted some IMI the other day but don’t believe I saw a step in the brass. I’ll keep an eye out.
