I said I wouldn’t get back into .40s&w ever because I didn’t see a point in it since I shoot and reload both 9mm and .45acp…

However…I eventually want to get a 10mm someday so .40s&w kinda makes sense to own too since I’d be able to share bullets (I believe) and possibly powder?

How is the caliber to reload and I guess I really kind of want to ask the benefits of the .40 over the 9mm and why maybe some of you use .40 over 9mm. I’m not looking to replace my 9mm or my .45acp by any means, just thinking maybe I’m gonna want some more variety.. I looked into .357sig but that is definitely one caliber I don’t think I’ll ever be interested in.
I like most all hand gun rounds... anything from 9mm to .45, including 10mm. I find the caliber (.40/10mm) very easy to reload and pretty cost effective. In both .40 and 10mm I use LongShot powder by Hodgdon. Best powder avail for 10mm and my fav for .40. I buy exclusively 180 gn JHP to load in both. And in IE Glock 10mm, (G20) throw a barrel in it and it's a great .40. Love them 2fers!

I actually recently bought a pound of Longshot knowing I can load 41 and 44 mag with it but first thing I heard it was great for was 10mm. Good info to know, I may have to just get into both calibers.

Also about LongShot, if you get it anywhere in it's pressure range you'll never see a cleaner powder!

I use blue dot for 10mm loads. It will also work for 40s, although I don’t use it. Loading 40s is easy. 40s work well with cast bullets for low cost shooting. Fired is available almost at giveaway prices. There are still good buys available on 40s if you look around. I don’t see any reason not to get one
