The wife is getting a new pistol soon. She picked out the M&P EZ 380 2.0 with safety.

This will be her first one she will actually carry. Current events and uncertainty with how safe this town we live in really is has her convinced to start carrying. Right now we are trying to figure out a holster for her and having a tough time. I personally like IWB carry with my 43x. She is interested in IWB kind of but she found a kydex holster that attaches to the bra. (I think it’s called flash bang) I kinda think the bra holster isn’t a good idea right now with picking up and holding babies.

I’ve tried to convince her of getting a purse but she doesn’t like purses and doesn’t use one. I also kinda believe the firearm should be on your person at all times but a purse would be better than not carrying at all...

Anyways OSA, how does your wife carry and does she have any suggestions and tips for my wife?

Same gun but in 9mm. She carries in a purse. Later, she will carry appendix most likely or use a bravo concealment OWB rig. If she doesnt have a large belly and can go appendix thats my vote… second vote is to go outside the waistband on the hip. Problems with purse carry as you already alluded to… a purse can be left in the car, counter, dropped, ripped off of your arm… etc. better to have the gun on your person ready to be used! It is challenging to get the women folk to get into that armed citizen mindset as I think by God’s design… they just arent warrior minded like some men are. If money isnt an issue, maybe you can buy two types of holsters and she can wear them around the house for a day and see if she can deal with the discomfort of it being on.

I’m going through the same situation with my wife and being that she’s always in a dress a brazier type holster isn’t practical, she’d have to throw her dress over her head to access the pistol. She’s trying a Can Can Concealment garter holster Garters
and so far so good. The pistol she’s currently carrying is a SIG P238 but I may get her a Ruger LCR which is a bit lighter then the SIG.

My wife is using a crossbreed IWB. We are seriously considerign ordering one of these for her to try. Would be good for beltless attire such as scrubs.

Unless she has skin the texture of elephant hide she’s going to need a grip wrap if she intends to carry it against her skin. Either that or sand down the texture on the actual grip.

I put a Talon on my 2.0 and it’s a ton better.

Couple of points.
A. The Phlster Enigma combined with a proper holster that will fit the gun has a huge amount of benefit for females in particular because they are not required to wear clothing with a belt. If you are concerned about adjustment etc go hit up their website because they have a TON of concealment educational material not only for the Enigma but also for concealment principles in general.
B. If the Flashbang holster is a problem (they are reasonable in certain cases but you have to be busty enough to outsize your gun if you want actual concealment) because of the kiddos then OWB is going to be a problem as well, as ladies have hips for a evolutionary reason. Kiddos are often placed on those hips.
C. When you go looking for a holster go with solid manufacturers. JM Custom Kydex, Dark Star Gear, Tenicor, Safariland, etc. We The People, Aliengear, Crossbreed, and other do NOT fall into the solid manufacturer category.
D. Highly recommend for ALL of those with kiddos around when you are carrying to go take Citizens Defense Research Armed Parent/Guardian course. They teach in differnt places around the country but I do have them coming here to MeadHall next year. Some of our natural tendencies with kids are actually not the best idea and CDR has some phenomenal material on the subject.

My wife carries the same firearm. She wears tops/shirts most of the time and wears a belly band holster. I'm not sure which brand, but she loves the holster.
