Would any of you consider a 22cal for a backup kept in the vehicle? If you already carry a regular CCW, would there be any advantage to also having a 22 pistol on board that could be used for a backup self-defense pistol, but also just having a 22 would somehow be an advantage?
Sure beats throwing Rocks!

9 out 10 criminals don’t care what brand of firearm you left for them in your vehicle.
As I have said before, Never leave a firearm in your vehicle. Sorry but that is just plain stupid unless one has a lockable safe bolted or welded to the floor or frame. A lot of places have signs on their doors that say no firearms allowed. Well I carry mine concealed and with me all he time. If the business people asks me to leave because someone seen it well I will of course leave. If I have extended shopping to do I sometimes carry a fanny pack. Here in Idaho the people are allowed to open carry if they wish. Even so it makes some people leery especially the new move ins from Kalifornia! LOL!

My truck gun is my Tarus Judge. I actually got it to wear when hiking or mowing on my 80 acre wilderness. I never know if I'll come across a pygmy rattler or a bunch of hogs, so I alternate 410's and 45's in the cylinder. It will get NASTY when mowing, etc....but has never failed me. It resides in a lock box in the truck so I know I'll always have it available.
Carry my Judge when on the tractor with 000 buck. Lots of critters want to use the tractor as a tool to flush game.

I've never lost a firearm from my vehicle but lost many from my home in a burglary.
Which should I be concerned about?

Both of course. I worry less about my home as all firearms are in a safe that not even Godzilla could move and none in my vehicle. Having partially grown up in Philadelphia, PA I learned just how fast someone can break into or steal your car in seconds. I once had $500+dollars worth of tools stolen from my trunk while I was eating breakfast a block away from the Union Hall. I looked outside the diner window and saw three black guys prying open my trunk with a crowbar. This was 7:00 in the morning!! There was a LEO sitting at the counter so I yelled to him what was going down and headed towards the door only to be too late to get to my car. I came back to the diner to pay my bill and asked him why did he not go after them "He said he was on his lunch break". Typical Philly cop in early 50's. Learned lessons that day.

I feel everyone on a cheap gun left in a car, and a spare in a car. I want the most reliable weapon I can afford with me at all times, honestly what I carry is far from my most expensive. I carry a shield 9mm everyday all day, I don’t have a car gun per say, if I am going out of town, I may add a g19’or cz p10c for fun and capacity. Just me, ymmv

Just remember it's still illegal to carry a loaded firearm in your car in okla. Cops will take one just like the bad guys.one word of advice, don't leave a box of ammo showing, that's a give away to both law enforcement and criminals.
