Tractor time.

I put 12 hours on the new to me L3301 brush hogging this weekend and loved every minute of it. I couldn’t believe how sore I was afterwards. I guess from stretching while backing up.

Anyway, I made it just over a week before the need to modify the bucket. That may be a record for me. Not sure why I can’t just leave stuff alone.

The 60hp Kubota cab tractor that burned up in the spring didn’t have liquid filled back tires, and that was the tippiest tractor I’ve ever been on. The original tires had been filled, but I had never taken the time to fill the newer ones.

The water helps with keeping the rear on the ground better but does it help with the tipping side to side too?

Yes, fluid in the tires will help with tippiness just by virtue of the fact that you're putting that mass down about as low as you can get it. How much it'll help, I don't know, but it'll help some.

Nicely done , welds look great. Why the reciever ? I've seen weld on balls and hooks but your receiver is a 1st.

The tractor is that much heavier and or planted to earth. I would bet the answer is yes.

I cannot contribute anything to this thread as I have not owned anything larger than a Craftsman garden tractor. But I sure do enjoy reading the posts of others!

The first thing we always did was widen the rear tires out as far as you can, but then we mowed a lot of step slopes along the roadways.

Thanks, I had the heat turned up. I think they are burned in good. The receiver is for an extended drop hitch to move my trailers around. I incorporated the d ring mount for some triangulation for strength.

We’ll see if it works like I hope.

The cab tractor had a higher center of gravity so was tippier anyway, but water definitely helped. My open station 7040 has a lower center of gravity, and with water in the tires, it’s like a rock.

The tractor is that much heavier and or planted to earth. I would bet the answer is yes.

That parts makes sense to me but at the same time if I have both my tires filled with a liquid of choice that means the downhill tire is at an angle with that much "water weight" on the downhill side wanting to pull the tractor over. THen the uphill rear tire would counter act the downhill tire thus negating the effects of waterfilled tires and their affect on tippiness. Or am I overthinking this whole thing.
