Regarding Kimber:
I bought my first 1911 several years back. I'd owned Glocks, a Browning Hi Power, several Ruger wheelguns, even a Beretta. But I wanted a 1911 in 45ACP.

The older gent behind the counter saw me looking at the current Kimber model, which was on sale, selling for just under a C-note more than the Ruger next to it. He said, "Kimber is not what it used to be. Ruger is what it's always been."

I bought the Ruger SR1911 and I've been thrilled with it ever since - it's my EDC. I'm not sure that makes Kimber better or worse, it's just a story.

The fact that we are all clicking on this to roll our eyes is why he has a job...

Don't have to be good, just get the clicks.

Korth and such should S-tier. All the ones on his S-tier list should be A-tier, with the possible exception of Wilson Combat.
Exactly like the news; doesn’t have to be right, accurate or anything, just has to be first.

Glocks are mid tier now at best.
Disagree. Although I still carry 1911's it is rare a Glock ever fails to perform. I have at put at least 19000 rounds through a Gen2 and there were no failures of any kind. Ok so I am not knocking the new firearms out there though some of them suck. I recently traded a NIB Gen5 G19 that I paid $450. for because I wanted a .380 for my granddaughter. Glocks still top tier in my opinion.

Hey, I am the schmuck stuck with a Kimber according to this article and some on this site. :burnout:

At least you are "stuck" with a Glock.

I have a new Ruger Combat Commander that is very reliable and accurate. Likely your Kimber needs some tuning but If I had with one I would not listen to all the bad scuttlebutt as its who stands behind the handgun that counts.

Compared to other platforms they fall behind now. Trash trigger, garbage sights, bad ergos, and no modularity. Seems Holosun has saved their MOS system. How much money do you have to spend to get them up to speed to what others offer stock?

I get they work, but a majority of platforms are exceedingly reliable now.

Like I've stated before, Glock doesn't even make the the best "Glock" anymore.
