The 5th Circuit Court just ruled social media platforms can't censor most viewpoints, especially conservative. Good for the court. Now let's just see if they honor the decision.
My wife told me this, and I’ll tell you the same thing I told her. It’s totally meaningless. FB, Tweeter, Instagrams, etc are going to continue to do what they do, and nobody’s going to do anything to stop them or punish them. That‘s because they censor who the .gov crowd wants censored. If they were censoring liberals, that sh*t would’ve stopped yesterday. :finger:

Haven’t used their crap since the youngest moved out many years ago.
Only reason I set one up was to monitor and censor them!
Surely folks aren’t nieve enough to believe it has any other purpose

eh, I had a Facebook the first week it went live. It was good back then. I use it as a personal diary since I’ve had it so long. I can go back to read some of my first posts lol. Also allows me to picture dump on there instead of using space on my phone or computer.

Maybe. But would you rather have a court decision affirming it's illegal or not? It's a step in the right direction. More likely it doesn't really mean much because it's a Circuit Court ruling. A SCOTUS ruling would carry more weight. But that will have to come later if they appeal. If they don't, it sets a precedent.

It's kind of like a restraining order. Sure, it doesn't stop the restrained party from actually doing anything. But it allows additional action to be taken if they do violate it. In this case it opens the door for them to be sued and when they get hit in the wallet they'll think twice, maybe.

There's no sense in trying to make perfect the enemy of good. It's an incremental step and I'm really pleased with the ruling and think it's a good thing. If you don't, that's your prerogative.

At this point, I just don’t give a sh*t, because there’s rules for ”them” and there’s rules for “us”. Nothing is going to change that, because the whole d*mn coutry is run by pedophiles and insider traders. :finger:

I need a "Get Out Of My Face Book" account. I despise FB, Twitter, and all those other social media platforms. They could all go away as far as I'm concerned.

The day after they said that, I got two warnings from Facebook about posting someones "Private & Intimate" pictures.
