Well, you can file suit on a ham sammich.

Who’s to say he doesn’t have a case for being traumatized by her hysterics?

If dude didn’t do anything wrong, he should have insisted she be the one to be removed. She was the one causing the scene. Stable folks have been made to bend over and take this **** for too long. It’s time the fruitcakes are made to answer for their behavior, and not people normally going about their day being forced to comply with nonsensical demands from idiots. That’s what got us here in the first place.

If I was running the place, she would have been made to calm down or be trespassed. Removed, forcibly if necessary, and banned from entering that property or any other company property. Innocent customers shouldn’t be subjected to that kinda horseshit.
Most people (WM employees especially) simply don't get paid enough to put up with this crap. So they seek the path of least resistance, which is usually getting the sane yet aggrieved party to concede and help deescalate the situation.

It's not right, but it does help restore normality more quickly.

I understand, but again, that’s what got us here.

If we want it to stop, and I do, we have to start doing things differently.

What happens when you capitulate to a screaming, temper tantrum throwing toddler for the sake of peace and quiet? This isn’t any different. Problem is, most people capitulate to screaming, temper tantrum throwing toddlers. That’s why we’re here.

Would folks feel any different if she/him/it were throwing the same tantrum over being misgendered? Mental illness is mental illness.

Oh I agree and have taken the hard path more than once, but most everyday people don't manage conflict all that well.

It's easy to make this a political thing, but lately I have started to think micro pollution is what is making every younger generation this way. There are a lot of hormone disrupting chemicals in plastic (such as pthalates) that you cannot avoid in normal life, and I would imagine that early exposure and then frequent re-exposure makes people imbalanced like this.

A lot of you old guys here probably grew up in a time when consumer goods were packaged more in glass, paper, and metal, which would have helped to prevent exposure.
