For those of you who don't attend OU football games, at the start the band plays the national anthem and the crowd is invited to sing along. At the end of the anthem, the "home of the brave" part, the crowd invariably yells "home of the sooners" instead. What percent of the OU fans yelling that, would you guess also had an issue with players kneeling during the anthem because that showed disrespect?

Yeah I've never loved those endings that are tagged on at sports venues. But, appear to be in the minority. I think I was the only one not screaming Blazers! at the end of the anthem when hockey was a thing here. As stated above, I'm sure it's not ill-intentioned. Just not my thing.

Almost all of them. It’s disrespectful to sing the National Anthem other than the original words. You have to understand though, these are Sooner fans. I’m sure most of them don’t think it’s disrespectful.

After you change your diaper, show us on the doll where the Sooner fans touched you.

Typical Sooner fan. Others can’t have an opinion. I can show you exactly where a Sooner fan can touch me. Preferably a cute coed with red lipstick.

I didn't say you couldn't have an opinion, it's just obvious you're bitter and you seem to constantly soil your depends about OU. You then decide to speak for them.

Wouldn't hold your breathe on the coed lol.....

And its obvious you’re an obnoxious OU fan who thinks they can do no wrong. Do you think it’s ok to change the words in the song?

There is a general lack of respect to the National Anthem. Seems like every performer at major sporting events wants to put their own spin on it from ridiculous vocal runs to playing it like a funeral dirge. As a comparison, watch a sporting event where the Canadian NA is sung. It is always performed with the utmost respect and sung the way it was originally composed, loud and proud. Just different cultures I guess, but in this particular instance I prefer the Canadian tradition.

I completely agree with this statement. 👆👆👆

While I really don't care much, this part of the statement is what's getting Sooner fans up your ass. The alteration of the Anthem is not exclusive to OU and it's generally widespread throughout sports.

But, since you made it a Sooner thing, the whole Bedlam thread is gonna happen again, blood in the streets, diapers dirtied, and General Chaos will ensue with some cupcake quitting OSA again.

Just laying blame early, nothing personal
