I think the drone would not only work well for your needs, but also be a lot of fun. I’ve enjoyed the few times I have taken mine out to fly. Sadly, I bought it for a business, and I’m going a different direction, so I’m considering selling/taking trades for. If you want, we could talk about it all before I list it on here sometime in the future.

Do binoculars count? Line of sight can be quite a ways off if it's 350' off the ground.
EDIT: binos don’t count. But on a clear day (typically when you’ll fly) you can pick out a drone with good lights a lot further out than you would think.

Just out of curiosity, and provided that Rickm doesn't want your drone, what brand and model do you have? Also, does it come with a camera?
It’s the DJI mavic pro 2, has a 4k hasselblad camera built it, 3 batteries, extra parts, etc. lots of cool camera features, terrain avoidance and autopilot. If you like, I can send pictures. It has maybe 5 hours of flight time on it.

No! Binoculars do not count. You have to be able to see the drone at all times with the unaided eye. Corrective lenses are OK, but no binoculars.
