Anyone ever buy a cheaper pistol for vehicle backup?

I get it, just playing devil’s advocate. Got a Glock for nearly 24/7 car carry then my ccw. A dagger could also be an under dash 24/7 car gun, along with whatever else comes on board on any given day.
Yeah, the G26 w/ extra mags onboard is the obvious choice except that I'd care if it was stolen...Since I started this thread, I have moved back to not leaving the car gun in the car at all times...However, that Mossberg compact 9mm also looks promising when comparing the cheaper options...So does the Ruger Security 9

I’m not a fan of leaving a weapon in cars.

I love my Hi-Points.
It;s the 1911 Taurus that gave me fits and a Kimber.
Zero issues with the cheap ones.
And the Taurus 1911 is just as heavy as the 45 Hi-Point so it is not a weight thing.
Probably made in USA and lifetime warranty and too inexpensive is why people hate on them.

Yea they are bulky but so is the belly of most guys that are packin.

I have an older CCW I now use as a truck gun, but it is outdated on capacity and the trigger isn't my favorite, so I was considering getting a newer expendable pistol, to replace it. I'm a glock fan, but don't want to dedicate one of those or pay for a new one for a backup. However, I'm not talking about a Hi Point either LOL.

Some of the brands I was thinking about are Taurus, Canik, Stoeger, Ruger, or maybe S&W but I'd like to keep the cost down. Of those I mentioned, right now I feel like Taurus might have the best to offer for the money, but not sure so I'm asking for opinions.
What type is it- revolver/auto- cal- looking for a trade
