My BP buck ran down into a creek then tried to run uphill out of it...didn't make it with both lungs gone.I've never had a deer twitch it's tail and walk away after a hit. And don't believe that nonsense a deer won't run uphill after being shot.
No luck finding the doe on my place yet...goin back out soon as my old broken down butt gets a bite to eat.I've got a neighbor over here now at my place tracking one he shot....to be continued.
Most of the time here in the hills a hit deer will go downhill. I've had 3 go uphill. Every deer I've shot have dropped in their tracks or ran afterwards. I assume the rifle report is enough to make them run.I’ve had a bunch do the tail twitching, and the most recent was the buck I killed in TX a couple weeks ago. As a matter of fact, he was heading downhill when he fell.
Well I figured out why we have so many spikes this guy come through this morning and thought great another spike the closer he got the bigger he got puncture holes from fighting in several spots he is 16”s wide couldn’t get a accurate measurement on the mainbeams View attachment 322475
He is not the only one breeding but there is a bunch of spikes running around that should be little 6 or 8 pointsSo this buck has been breeding so much that the offspring is only spikes? That’s wild!
