I’m starting to wonder if I’m better off with a job box. I’m not spending thousands on a safe to protect what little I have, and it seems like the reviews on anything under 5k is basically “well it’s fine if you’re poor”.
Since the advent of battery operated grinders, safes are basically a steel storage container anyways. Unless you build a specific alcove to prevent side access and spend outrageous money you’re better off with a $500 locking cabinet and spending money on a security system.

Cabelas had a decent one about that size in the bargain cave the other day it was priced at 400 due to being a floor model. It was locked but the outside looked to be in great shape, think it was regularly 6 or 700. Cant recall the brand

If you value your firearms look at Liberty and Fort Knox safes, look at the material thickness of both housing and doors, also the lenght of time the safe can withstand a fire.

Get a HEAVY safe that does not need bolting to floor.

Heavy safes need to be bolted to the floor too.

Look at iron tight safe rooms. Built to withstand a F5 but also built as a vault. Very good value and you can get a subsidy from the state if you get picked in the safe room lottery discount program.

Old Harley riding buddy was a professional locksmith. His favorite remark was "Locks only keep kids and the terminally stupid out." Second favorite comment was "Good strong safe that no one even finds in order to attempt breaching is your best bet." Third favorite..... "Hidden strong safe with a decoy metal storage container (ie StackOn ect) with leaded-barrel trash guns intended to be found is my recommendation." He also recommended top quality security systems.

I had looked at some of those. Seems like you can buy a large closet for a safe without spending much more than a good quality gunsafe. If I had the room I would get one of those.
