NFA or Non-NFA opinions on 10/22 build

Thinking of a “firearm” build with a virgin 10/22 receiver but do you guys think this would get my dogs shot?

26” oal ish maybe a little over for safety, 60% or the butt stock cut off and a little left for a cheek rest, you’d have to fire it with both hands….

Only if starting life as a rifle I believe, Charger based mares leg builds have been done before. I don’t see why a guy can’t do a build as a firearm where the overall length is 26” because the receiver has never been a rifle or pistol before.

Otherwise I’ll just make a shorter barrel and make a mares leg out of it I guess

I don’t disagree at all, just thinking something a bit different. Now a old butler creek folding stock and a short barrel and my can would be cool too

Added block of aluminum for over 26 inches when stock is folded. On RUGER 1022.
