I'd get a box of 55's and shoot them. I bought a couple boxes of Federal .223 with .45 grain bullets in them during the obama years shortage because that is all that was on the shelf. They keyhole in my 1:8 barrel. Don't have a .223 in 1:12 so they sit in the ammo bunker. (file cabinet used for ammo storage)

I have some ammo you can have that shoots great FREE.
I can make you some flat base 60 gr 55 gr or some 50 gr.

I am sure others can also just to see what is happening.

I have intentionally made cast bullets tumble and it was from shooting them too fast.
Funny thing is they hit the target in the same area, this was 45 acp pistol.

Not engaging rifling just skidding through.

Don’t replace the barrel. Shoot M193 or small 223 in it.

Nope. Not gonna do that on a 50-ish year old Colt upper that looks very lightly used. Not yet anyway.

Thanks for that offer...very generous of you. I'll just pick up a box or two locally and try it out.
