I got my land line bill ATT keeps going up and up and I have about had it.

Is there a way to cut that cord that supplies internet and phone and the phone is now and has been for some time VOIP as per my last conversation with ATT.

Could I get a cell phone God forbid.
And hook it to my desk top to have internet.. of course I would have a phone as it is a phone.

Wife has an unlimited data plan from walmart 24 bucks a month on some newer phone of hers.

Now also educate me in upload and download speed and wifi.
My current speed I checked is 10.73 download and .89 upload Mbps.

4g 5g 2g what would work?

My current usage was 234 GB for the month.

Yes, but you have to buy equipment. I pay 22.00/month for my "internet", and I have a phone on a separate account. You can share the internet with your phone (called tethering), but it's blocked on many phones unless you pay extra.

What I'd do is get the cheap $22.00 internet plan, plug that into a wireless router, and volia. Computer's online. Then just carry your cell phone on a different plan. Family plans usually allow multiple lines at a discount, or ATT runs specials where you pay once/year and you end up with about $25/month for the plan.

Yes you can, depending on your phone carrier. You can use a personal hotspot or tethering to essentially use your phone as a modem. Its not as fast as using an actual "hotspot". You'll also have to check usage and availability with whoever you go with as a carrier. My Verizon plan has 10GB of free personal hotspot included with my account, but my wife's ATT plan doesn't. When on road trips, I can turn it on and the wife can do paperwork or whatever she needs on her laptop while we're driving. Or I'll use it when I'm out away from the house and need internet. Works pretty well.

Look into cox or if you live out a little ways ( like me and others), look into OEC fiber optic internet, yes its about $55 a month but some much faster and you can stream shows you might be interested in watching and it opens up other possibilities

There is a newer internet service called Nextlink that has been offering $39 a month in the El Reno area- I had Atlink one time in a rural area that was about $70 a month- I currently have cox and I think its about $70 a month- I'm getting ready to something cause my cox bill is now almost $300- I do have movie channels, but they are suppose to only be $20 of that. I'm just on the middle tier level too. I've had Direct TV and is ok most of the time except for weather issues. Been without a home phone for at least a dozen years and maybe 15.
