So I got it. It was made in Strattford, Conn which is an early model that is supposed to be good quality,. It locks up good and alignment is good. I will get some picks up shortly once I give a it a quick cleaning.
Buy the way , as usual the guys at SSP are excellent. Can not ask for a better bunch.
If it needs re crowned check 4D rentals and see if they have the tooling to rent and do yourself

Will have to look into that . Thanks for the info, have never heard of 4D.
Used them when I needed to redo the crown on this old Winchester I ended up cutting down (it was already done and butchered before me)

I had a stainless Charter 44 spcl snubbie a few years back for a carry gun for a time, rode well in a Simply Rugged Silver Dollar pancake leather holster, and shot good for me

I carried a pair back in my cheap thug days. Loved those guns and they are among the many guns I wish I still had. I got a deal on the pair of Bulldogs and an Undercover 38 for a backup.
