I've read on several sites that Hogdon is discontinuing the IMR line of powder. I use 4451 with 120 ELDMs in my 6.5 CM with great results (even in wind) out as far as I've had the opportunity to shoot it, which is 800 yards. If that's true I hate seeing another great powder going by the wayside. Has anyone used any Ramshot Hunter with good results in a 6.5 CM round? I ordered some to try out. What data I've found looks pretty promising. We usually load with H4350 for the 135's and heavier but it's so scarce and expensive when you do find it that I'm looking for good alternatives to stock up on.

Won't they just re-release them under the H#### line then? Most powder companies we know are blenders/marketers and the actual powders are sourced from larger suppliers (General Dynamics for example).

I know this makes your historical load data basically useless but Hodgdon probably wants to maintain less SKUs in their catalog.

Some of these powders are being replaced by others that produce less co2 during manufacturing. When you see these new powders as being “green”, that’s what they are talking about. IMR powders are produced in Canada so there’s your sign. It’ll probably be impossible for them to be made at all before long. ESG… :pissed:

Hogdon just sells and markets them as canister powder. I’m not sure if they own the plant or not now as I haven’t kept up but in the past they never made powder.

As of now, the Enduron lines of IMR powder (your 4451 is one of those) are discontinued.

Thanks to everyone for the information.
I been using accurate 4350 in my 6.5 creedmoor with great results
I started to buy some of the A4350, but opted for the Ramshot Hunter instead as it's advertised as having a very similar burn rate as H4350. I still have 2.5 lbs of IMR 4350 and I'm trying to talk a friend out of what he has of it. LOL. If you don't mind me asking, what's your load data for the A4350? My rifle loves the light bullets and the IMR. Although it shoots the 140s and H4350 really well too. Here's the load data for the 120 grain ELDMs if you might ever have a use for it.

Winchester brass
Federal GM210M primer
42 grains of IMR 4451
Hornady 120 G ELDM
COL 2.700"
Chronographed at 2850 FPS

I've shot 3" groups at 800 yards with these in 10+ MPH full value wind through a stock Savage Axisll Precision and an Arken Gen ll, 5-25X50 zero stop scope. I have recently bought 250 rounds of Peterson SRP brass as I have quite a lot of small rifle primers. It's seem almost impossible to find large primers anymore. I'm waiting on the Ramshot Hunter to be delivered to develop a load with it and the small primer stuff. Thanks, Cass
