Why I hate buying a new caliber:

Dies: $300.00
Shell Holder: $10.00
Brass x100: $205.00

I'm over $500 dollars in and I still don't have bullets (Haven't decided what yet), powder or primers.
This right here is why I refuse to buy a rifle in a new caliber. I’ve been down this road too many times already.
I’m back to thinking about dabbling with a 6.5 caliber again, but it will be a 6.5x55 since I already have everything I need to reload for it.

I have been wanting a big 30 caliber round for several years. Almost pulled the trigger on a 300 WM several times, but when the .300 PRC was announced, I knew what I wanted. This may be the last time I go with something new. My reloading tastes and habits have changed which have gotten spensive!

I keep toying with the idear of a 6mm something laser beam and the 6.5 PRC, but 6mm and 6.5mm components are harder to find than 30 caliber. If stuff wasn't so hard to get, I might think harder.

I'm so loaded and vested in 6.5 stuff, that I could probably shoot like I do for the next 2 years and not need to order anything, plus my 6.5 just shoots so lights out. I've fired a 6GT and watching your splash like it's a 22 through the scope is kinda neat

Dies $50 or less and come with shell holder.
Brass never more than a buck a piece. I feel blessed.

I sized 200 .223 cases yesterday and loaded 150 of them with Benchmark and 55 v-max.
Today is 50 V-Max day and N133 powder or H322.
I have a lot of empty magazines that need filled.
All on my Lee cast iron single stage press.
:)

Prepping and loading .223.
Had the grandson depriming cases for a bit.
They will be tumbled in a while and then annealed and sized.
I figured i have a lot of components laying around and I might as well load up some ammo with all this empty brass I have.

I loaded up some 12 ga “turkey” ammo with 32 grains Longshot, CCI 209M primer, Remington SP12 wad, 1 1/4 oz #6 shot…10,800 PSI and 1440 fps.

Unfortunately, I used my last stash of SP12 wads which are no longer made, so now I have to figure out a replacement.
