Update on this one:

If you have a computer with hard drive, get it backed up onto another hard drive (or maybe even two.) We got the word on my hard drive and to get a full "recovery" (although some data areas were damaged), it would have cost us around $3000. Even a partial with only about 350 gig would have been around $2000, and it would have taken $2400 to restore roughly 750 gig. I had much more than 750 gig on that drive.

That said, I'm good with my most important files, and those would be my photos. With most of them on Smugmug, I can download any missing ones from there and retain their original file sizes. (File sizes is important if one wants to print out enlargements. I was told once that an image file that is 1.5 meg in size would only be able to get up to about a 16"x20" photo without it being pixelated.)

Also, I got my phone back today, and it works fine again for opening. Wife also ordered a heavy duty case for the Samsung Galaxy Flip 4, and that is now on the phone. Much better protection for dropping, and the texture of the case makes it much easier to hold onto. Without a protective case, the phone was very slippery in my hands.

I have most all my files on more than one computer (desktops and laptops), as well as an external hard drive. External hard drives have become VERY cheap and are easy to use. If anyone has files they don't want to lose, or ones they want to keep private, I suggest getting one.
