Not a low serial number. Another oddity about your gun is the front pivot pin. It looks like a standard push pin. Almost all Colts made during that time frame had twin screws...one side screwed into the other. What does the front pivot pin look like on the right side of your rifle? Does it look like a screw or is it a standard push pin?

It’s a solid pin. You would have to have a punch from one side to the other. here is pic. I did not know that.

If you look at the pics I posted of my rifle that was the typical setup of that period. They didn't go back to the standard push pin in the front until about 1999. It's interesting that your gun has a push pin and not screws. But, Colt was always doing some oddball thing to their guns so it's hard to say why.

My Sporter 2 Carbine has the big hole front pivot pin that screws together, and it's from the same time frame. I'm pretty sure that is a large hole front pivot pin. It may have come with the screw together front pin and replaced. I've thought about ordering the larger push pin, but now that it's a "collector's item", I'll just leave it original.
