Went to Atwoods in Norman yesterday morning and noticed that they had pulled all the ammo off the shelf and put it behind the counter and I ask the sales fella why and he said that they had lost right at $14K worth of ammo from thievery and were told to pull it off the shelf.

The sales people now have to also walk the customer and his ammo to the cash register.......he said that they were finding empty ammo boxes in the store from where people were dumping the loose ammo in their pockets and walking out.

Things keep going the way they are, in a few years you will not enter the store, you will buy it online and go to a pick up area or have it shipped to you.
They are building an on-line only grocery store in Yukon. Then they can control your food purchases when it gets too dangerous to venture out on our bicycles after our cars are eliminated. Called JackBe.
Walmart's are closing due to loss around the country. And others like Walgreens and more.

Wow funny you should mention this. I was at the Academy store in MWC last month to buy a box of 357 Magnum.

I picked up a box from the shelf, thought gee this feels light, slid it open and noticed 12 or 15 empty holes, no ammo. I was shocked, took a few seconds, then raised the box up and hollared to the counter person to see and come over. Handed it to her, told her I didn't do it, cameras on etc, and she just sighed and said they have a problem with people stealing a handful from boxes and walking out.

So yeah, at this rate, things may change, you'll have to find an employee to get behind the counter and open the door to the ammo.

This crap is happening all around with all kinds of products. I've noticed, and seen some news stories, about store that keep popular products locked up and a clerk has to come over, unlock, and hand to you, or walk it to the counter for you.

Thieves!!! Criminals!!! Crooks!!! Screwing up things since mankind first appeared.

That’s stinks and thieves suck. That fella at the gun counter is really nice. If it’s the guy I’m thinking of, he retired from another job and this is just his fun gig. To bad some idiots aren’t making his job fun anymore.
On days if the one you are referring to has his hair cut high and tight it might Dave / Sarge......he's retired from the Army with over 20 years served.

Scotty is the oldest of the three and the head of the dept.......he just recently returned to work from having surgery.

James is the thin-ish fella with the long hair and scruffy beard.

All three are pretty good ol' boys.

If you walk through Home Depot they are putting a lot of product in cages for the same reason. Tried to buy 25 ft of romex and had to get someone to open up and walk me to the front.
Thieves suck!!
Less than $100 that these fools are putting their freedom on the line for.
Do not understand that at all.
